Gathering.

That was an Event! While we were chatting pre-6:02, a woman remarked that she didn't want to choose sides ... she didn't want to be part of Jejune or EPWA. I said, "oh, so you're going to be Switzerland?" Then, at the beginning of the march, two guys were looking at one of the handouts in quizzical fashion and asked me what it was all about. One apologized for his perfect English, explaining that they were from Switzerland. I looked around for the woman but couldn't find her. I explained as best I could to them what was happening.

For some reason I found the the couple wearing black garbage bags tremendously appealing. "Yes," I thought. Also the robot guy.

Arm bands! I know! This is the second time I've had arm band jealousy during/post-event.

The goons ... oh that was just DELICIOUS. Did it seem like they were a bit more agile than the normal Joe or Jane you'd pull off the street? Jejune Institute Special Ops 201: Gymnastical Slinking.

Photgraphic evidence

Most excellent action last night.

I can't help thinking that the rain today is somehow a consequence of standing up to Octavio Coleman Esq.

I've heard rumors of a weather control machine in development at the Jejune Institute's Oslo Research Laboratory.

I took some photos. Photographic Evidence of the 4/30 Action found here:

Oh, now isn't that pretty URL.

Happy Trails EPWA and hope to see you all soon.

Also, it looks like we got picked up by one of the SF Weekly blogs, in a post covering us and SF Tweed... though in our case, they confused us with those jackanapes at the Jejune Institute: http://blogs.sfweekly.com/thesnitch/2009/05/tin_foil_and_tweed_just_anothe.php (Oh hey hi tungsten beat me to it!)

re: armbands: I received an armband, later on, but it fell off. :O Presumably, someone later at Li Po's upstairs bar made a lucky find.

Man, how fun was it to put faces to names last night? I apologize if I met you and then ran off: tons of stimuli and a fast-moving series of events do that to me. And then, of course, I was one of the map holders and had to lead people onward. And then I was updating several online sources with the after-party location through a slow-ass mobile connection. I really want to have another meet-up in a more relaxed setting on a day people don't have to rush off because it's a school night (metaphorically or literally) and where I don't feel like I have things to attend to. I did get to talk to several folks once we got to Li Po Lounge, but not everyone I wanted to. Sad Christmas. Also I became aware of how many lurkers read this thread because people kept coming up to me and saying, "You're Jason!" and I'd be all, "Yeah! ...And who are you?" Very Happy (Big ups to Joshua, who so far has come the closest to pronouncing "7au" correctly on the first try. Wink )

briareosH, Shyguy, Jennifer, Garland, Leslie, Joshua: it was cool to meet you! To tungsten, crumblydonut, Rusty, and (lurker?) Adam who had emailed me months ago, I wish we got a chance to talk more! Ruby, Yoshi, and bunches of others whose names I'm forgetting because there was a veritable landslide of you, we shall meet again I'm sure!

"Elite five"?! What the hell's that about, Cap'n? :O We're not elite. Recurring characters, maybe? But anyone can do that! Just make yourself recurring! SUPA-EASY. LEARN MORE BY BUYING MY EASY-TO-FOLLOW CASSETTES ON HOW TO DO THIS--WAIT THAT'S THE JEJUNE METHOD WE DON'T DO THAT HA HA.

To the folks hiding up in the offices of 580 CA (including Drybones and WHOA Octavio!) who showed their faces last night: thanks again for being clever and willing to experiment. Yar!

I can't believe we really got Frank Chu to come to this thing.

Hey! The producers referred to us as that, don't shoot the messenger Wink

But I totally agree, it's easy to become a "recurring" character! Especially since this thing will continue to grow. Trust me, it's only the beginning Very Happy

 Marching on Ye Nonchalant Soldiers

Greetings.

Nice to have met so many of you last night, whether via conversation, flash photo, or TalkGirl Interview. Foil, Duct Tape, Trash Bags, and Frank Chu, it was like Christmas 98 all over again!

Haven't been on the forums much lately. I think I was like the fifth person inducted when the institute first opened its doors, and was originally incredibly excited about this game. But then there was the inter-act lag, and I was honestly pretty disheartened by all of the sidequests the creators threw at us early inductees in the long dry time before act 2. I pretty much lost my gusto for the experience after the failed timecraft 13 hunt, and kind of gave up on this endeavor. But then some friends of mine joined in out of the blue last month and were so excited about acts 1 and 2, that I decided to come on out for the GODDAMN SUMMONING. I must say, I'm very much re-inspired by this collection of oddities and eye-openers, people and missions alike.

I think another meetup sounds great. Meanwhile, I better get back on the casual nonchalant ball and get me some hobo coinage.

Please, enjoy the view of the event from the disposable camera side of things. Ran out of film right as Coleman and his goons rolled up unfortunately, but was able to grab another one on the way to Li Po.

More Fun From the Disposable View

I will be editing and uploading the taped interviews later this weekend. There's a real gem from Frank to come.

Man, I just re-read what I wrote in my last post. I get nostalgic at the drop of a hat, apparently. It's like I'm signing your yearbook. "HAVE A GREAT SUMMER! SEE YOU NEXT YEAR!"

My tooth needs a non-chalant dentist?
Faulty tooth

Great gathering yesterday... I LOVED the bubble-wrapped wall...!

So to the point... I got
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
R.Laf***ty's
(someone's) nonchalant tooth and not working where/how its supposed to (if you know what I mean)... Was wondering anyone experienced this too and or if there is a way to let the PM's know that this is going on.

Thanks and keep up the fight against the evil forces of the JJ...!

That's just terrible. That's like the movie reel breaking right in the middle of the penultimate scene. Suspense city.

I'd try shooting the EPWA an email about it, "epwa" at their domain name. They may be able to help. (And they love photos, they're very visual over there.)

I love your photo annotations, tungsten! There's also an impending shark attack. That dude was awesome.
