 		I think we are getting bogged down in the details and not lookign at the big picture.

we basically know now what goes on in all the files.

we now need to figure out how these are part of the game and what the next step might be when we have them alll activated

That sounds about right. They apparently stole a military vehicle (A warthog and a razorback are both hoglike creatures, which would lend credibility to the idea of a Razorback as a military vehicle, which might be another Halo-ILB link). Turtled is obviously a reference to flipping it and not being able to do anything about it, which also says something about Jan's (and potentially her friends') strength levels, though that's likely inconsequential.

well it could mean she was unable to flip the car or unWILLING to flip the car.

That is actually quite important.

 		ghosting seems to refer to hacking someone implanted cellphone/wireless communication type device... he was able to make her voice appear between the two of them, so obviously it lets you reach out and touch someone, using bypasses the inner ear and ptutting the sound straight into the brain, since he could make appear in a surround sound style (between the two folks? the dude and his date?)

I think you are right, kinda. Its like stalking, only way more sophisticated. During message_saved, when she says that she got rid of the sleeping time, I think what she means is she had hours (days/weeks) of him recorded. She dumped out all the crap (i.e. sleeping time) and then only searched for what she wanted (i.e. women's voices). Just a thought.

 		Ugh... ok I think I read all the 72 pages, but unless I missed something here or in the .wavs & transcripts there's still nothing conclusive linking Melissa to Durga.

1) Melissa and Durga are both Earth military AIs from the Halo universe
2) Melissa and Durga were both damaged/stunted and found themselves on limited systems
3) Melissa and Durga share the same protoccols for dealing with situation #2, easillay accounted for in my opinion by #1.
4) Melissa has had contact with the Castaway who has had contact/is related to a different person in the Jan/Durga story fragments. Is this all that surprising in a small elite military subset of a future world world full of AIs?

Did I miss something?

Personally I'm not going to bother to extrapolate any links or common personalities between the Jan/Durga story and the Dana/Melissa story until I see some conclusive links... so onto speculation based on what we do have!

I think Jan and her James really do live like father and daughter based on the car conversation, even if he is also a handler/minder for her... Is it even safe to assume James and Jan are from a "legit" Spartan program? Might they not be trying to keep quiet for personal instead of military security reasons?

 		A few outstanding questions:

Where did Durga come from? Originally, I had thought she was a Covenant secret 'suitcase' brought onto the ship, but apparently, her first manifestation is on a planet where Jersey is.

When does the Phase 1 text occur? Clearly, Kowalski is talking to James James and Melissa knows about it, but when does this happen?

What infects Melissa in the future, if not Durga?

How is Jan's personality (not her memories) forming coherency as the Princess? Even if Durga was spying on her, it doesn't mean Durga can create an AI of her. There's more to Durga and Jan than spying.

If Kowalski is talking to James in the future (from the Dare scenario), Melissa and Jan exist seperately in that timespace. How does Jan get with Durga or Melissa in this scenario?

Something is not matching with the times.

A pop quiz seems to be a lie detector. when "JAN" calls "JAMES" dad when he walks into the interagation room, the stupid cop says that there is a spike in the readin, meaning that it could be true or false. also when he asks if she is scared now after "JAMES" walks in it does the same thing

 		To somewhat discredit my own theory..

Was there a short enough time between Durga 'woke up' (presumable after having broken out) and being asked to provide information on Jan to allow for Durga to have intercepted the contents of Blip?

I think the problem is we dont know what the big picture is.
All we know is that there is a girl called jan with extraordinary abilities who gets arrested, her father talks about shady stuff then the police station burns.
An artificial intelligence invades a computer and begins showing Jersey some information.
A guy going out on a date uses ghosting of chatternet, a hacking into mobile phones in your heads, to simulate calls and listen in on people.


Theres no REAL big picture yet. Nothing to directly link without doubt to the main site, just speculation.

 		I'm setting myself up for a thorough trouting here I'm sure.. but...

Seeing as Melissa believes the voices she's transmitting us, the wav clips, are responsible or in some way connected to her crash then it's plausible that the power blip is indeed Melissa's crash.

Ghosting is actually a PC program that copies everything in your hard drive (settings, files, everthing) in order to migrate it to a new box. Pretty cool too. We use it in the office when we get new laptops every other year.

It would explain the start of it all and a good basis for another theory.

If that's what ghosting is, it goes well with my Jersey created Durga when he Ghosted Jan theory.

Jan's "superhuman" brain (possibly implanted with an AI, maybe it's a spartan 3 upgrade) got migrated over to Jersey's computer and evolved itself into Durga.

Durga tried to look up information on herself but gets "reflected", perhaps because of the ghosting process, or because she was just created so there's no information to lookup.
