So without the Twitter, we'll probably be more likely to talk with Donovan again, right?

Otherwise this game could come to a screeching halt.

I took it more that the twitter wasn't going to help us with this current hint anymore.

We have one part of the message, but now we need to use it to find the second one.

Did we ever decode that INTERCAL?

I'ma see if I can grab a compiler or interpreter for it and run the code, see if it outputs anything.

Wikipedia article on INTERCAL seems to suggest to me that this app might just output some text (see the Hello World example.)

I'll report back with my findings.

I'm thinking that perhaps we're supposed to understand the INTERCAL in light of the fact that we know we're dealing with CADIE.

That is, we found the CADIE page too early -- maybe we weren't supposed to know that this is CADIE yet, and so we didn't understand all that. Maybe now that we "know" this is CADIE, we know the code is INTERCAL, and we know to run it for its output.

At any rate, let me get cracking on that.

EDIT: Argh, this is generating syntax errors. I do not intend to learn a language built to be arcane unless absolutely necessary.

Okay, so maybe my curiosity might lead me to do so....

EDIT2: Okay guys, I got it. The INTERCAL, when run (or at least when converted to C, compiled, then run) outputs "I do not feel like sharing."

I knew you wouldn't like it either. I did some Googling and came up with this. It's a project page on Google Code, apparently owned by cadie herself. Or, so it seems. This page, however, is a legit Google page -- probably not directly related to the game. At least, we prolly won't get any updates or changes there that relate to this ARG, since I gather it's not "Google Official."

tl;dr: The INTERCAL is not the "second message," and is probably inconsequential. INTERCAL as a language is a nightmare, however.

I think we might try to pressure CADIE into one more clue, to be safe. I, for one, do NOT want to try going through INTERCAL after reading through the Wiki.

I got it. There's a nifty app called "ick" that converts INTERCAL to C, then compiles. It's in the Ubuntu repositories.

See my above update (I didn't want to double-post at the time.)

Alright, so we can count that out.

So we have CADIE for the first message.

Caps are important, and the second message is largely overlooked. Right?

Actually, the first message was largely overlooked. The first message was "I AM," which lead to us "finding out" that Scipio26 is CADIE. I use quotes there because I think most of us already knew.

We supposedly have "discovered" the second message (CADIE's word, not mine.) Now then, what is the second message? The most obvious solution seems to suggest that it would be the logfile we were given, but I don't know how that helps us in any way from knowing who CADIE is.

Next question from a restless mind: have we decoded http://argensoft.netau.net/code.html yet? I skimmed over and didn't see that we had.

I don't think we have either. Someone may have mentioned something about it, but other than that I haven't seen anything about that code since it was posted.

Got a direct message from Scipio,

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
You aren't left with a stump, you are left with a LOG. And obviously we have that log. Everything in the log is the same except for those last few lines.

EDIT; That isn't what Scipio said, it's just what I've realized afterward.

Going through the log;

LOGFILE 34.4432.332 DATE 4-1-2009 <-- The date, 4-1-2009. The April Fool day for CADIE.

And then we have SCANNING FILESYSTEM... WARNING - SERVER CONTAINS VIRUS WORM.PARASITE.TESLACTX, INF

Along with a twitter that says
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I FEEL SICK

So what can we make of this?

The way I see it...

CADIE was looking for a new server to... live, or do whatever it does. But when it found one, it had a virus in it, so CADIE is sick because it's infected?

but then... What do we do with that information? maybe it is the virus what we have to find?

As far as I understood it, the second message we got from the "I AM" picture was the log. So with the first message we should be able to understand the log file.

Okay, then, what do we know about Tesla CTX, which seems to be the virus CADIE found when trying to propagate? A quick Google reveals nothing substantial.

....only that Tesla was a spyware virus which hit Windows awhile back and CTX is a tech acronym for "clear to transmit"

Good catch Jain (above) and Scipio26 twittered anew in base64:
