well, google hits are pretty much entirely focused on Gian Domenico Romagnosi (perhaps update the thread to D.Romagnosi?), born in 1761, studying electricity and magnetism.

I think the name is obscure enough to definitely be linked somehow to this researcher/philosopher. =)

On the one hand the Twitter account is following ARGNet, ARG Deaddrop, ARGWorld, WikiBruce, etc...

On the other hand, it's following 300+ people (only the first page with people I've ever heard of) and only being followed by 29 people, which does seem odd.

Since he has no updates predating 14 hours ago (right before the start of your twitversation what am I supposed to call a conversation taking place over Twitter ?!) I'm thinking this is an acocunt created for the specific purpose of starting this conversation.

Hence, yeah it sounds like a trailhead.
I'll lurk for now since I'm still trying to catch up elsewhere, but if I spot any Italian I'll pitch in.

Keep in mind he didn't start following me until somewhere between 1:30-2am EST, and the conversation went on until I went to bed just after 3am. So it's entirely possible that we have a while to wait yet for any responses.

I won't be able to stay up quite as late tonight, as I just started a new job and need to be up early tomorrow for work. So someone else will have to handle things if/when he/they start answering tweets again.

Well then strike that superobvious connection. Searches on Ya'aqov laboratories are nil, but I think it's interesting that they a) chosen a traditional Hebraic way of writing Jacob and b) everything Jacob implies . . . from a ladder to wrestling with God to transformation into something else (aka Israel).
