[TRAILHEAD] RU A Werewolf

Got a strange package today, from "Sparky". Pictures are below. The stamp is strange looking too, but I couldn't get a close up shot of it because my camera sucks.

The site http://www.ruawerewolf.com appears to be a countdown clock with some odd runelike marks. The gif files are named "akingdavidcypher" but I didn't find anything on that. The wolf eyes say "FIND THE SOURCE" in the alt tag.

The return address is a real house, verified by numerous real estate listings and Google maps, so unless I get some other notification that it is in fact in-game, I'm not going to release it. I know that Sparky's owners got married in November, and they bought the house in December last year. Their wedding & honeymoon pix are on Picasa. Sparky is a very cute mini poodle.

I guess we'll find out more in 11:23:04:00 and counting!

The stamp appears to have been generated at an Automated Postal Center.

Beyond that, I've got nothing to add, except that Sparky would seem to type and assemble packages pretty well ... which is impressive given Sparky's lack of opposable thumbs.

Just took a gander at the site, noticed a few extra things...

- a "akingdavidcipher" subdirectory
- 3 images labelled... 00B.GIF 005.GIF and 7D9.GIF respectively (looks like runes)
- the "ALT" tags change every time I refresh the page I'll try to get all the messages.

So far I have:

"GOOGLE IS YOUR FRIEND"
"FIND THE SOURCE"
"A PROGRAMMER MIGHT HELP"
"YOU ALREADY KNOW WHAT IT MEANS"

Postal code on the USPS stamp is from Bedford, Ohio... But I more than anyone know that doesn't mean squat. Twisted Evil

*EDIT* No it's not. Never mind. Smile

*EDIT #2* You might want to remove ALL reference to the sender; you've given enough information so that he can be found anyway.

Great find!
Just for the record (probably not necessary now) another of the alt tags is:

"I SEE YOU"

I actually make it 11-5-2009
the 'T' shape is a combination of the symbols for 10 and 1

*edit* figure this might have anything to do with the party game 'werewolf'? (also known as mafia) I remember playing variations of this in school....

very interesting...

the image itself is actually 2036x908 (much larger than on the web page). Checked the JPG meta data and generic graphically hidden meesages... nothing.
The EXIF camera make is "KEPS_" though.
