That looks pretty good. What really gets me is that every act seems to begin and end with a 3 second tape noise. All except Jersey/Durga and the lone Emergency wav. Assuming pillow fits in between blip and walkaway_girl, then I think we can expect more wavs to complete the stories, and tie them together.

One possible way to keep the tape noise lengths consistent would be to put Emergency at the end of "Jersey meets Durga". Not sure that makes any sense, but it makes the Act / Scene divisions consistent.

I thought of that, too. But it doesn't really make sense with the Jersey/Durga act. Unless (major spec) Durga is the one who set the police station on fire, possibly to erase any trace that Jan got caught. But it doesn't sit right with me.

Right, especially because no-one was even injured in the fire (almost seems as if the blaze was designed to not hurt anything other than the records in the physical station). Durga isn't that merciful. Jan's Dad on the other hand... but I'm getting OT for this forum. Smile

Yeah, 'emergency' is a real odd man out.

Another connection between Durga and Melissa

This is from reflected.wav -

Jersey: Who are you?
Durga: I, cant ask.
Jersey: Who says?
Durga: No-one exactly. I want to know, it's very important. But I'm reflected, I can't look at myself.

And this is from the Widows Story -

"The Queen was gone, and in her place lay only an empty crown. By great enchantment she had been mazed in mirrors, and lay upon a lodestone floor amongst only her reflections. Long and long the Widow stood in thought. Then she raised her bony staff and speaking a spell, beheld herself within the mirrors: and beholding herself, was within them. And there, with the crown still upon her brow, lay the Queen."

Sounds like the same deal to me - so Durga is either Melissa or another AI designed for the same purpose. I previously thought the mirrors were a metaphor for accident damage but now it looks like it might be a deliberate construction to prevent the AI from knowing it's purpose. But why would the AI not be allowed to know itself?

Emergency's kinda nifty

Actually I think Emergency is fine on its own. It's a dramatic, cynical little coda to the Jan story. It's like a cinematic quick cut to the burning station after J^2 says "I'll handle it".

With the daters and the dating established, does the conversation in 'reflected.wav' have any relations?

18 reflected.wav
- "DURGA" reports:
"Absent from home and current to Rendidi 513 days... Mother, BONITA, 41, waitress. Covertly seeing a man named SIMON BROWN, every other Thursday at the Waterfront Hotel..."
- JERSEY is dumbfounded by the report
"Last meal at the restaurant.. farm tuna salad for her. 'Meat of the Day' and red sauce for him. Tipped eight percent of the bill..."
- JERSEY is disgusted because of "MOM"

Correction: "Absent from home and current TOUR OF DUTY 513 days"

Also, It may be the same restaurant, but it's also entirely possible that they both happen to be fancy restaurants. Just because two restaurants serve the finest caviar, does not come close to meaning that it's the same restaurant. Not worth spec'ing about until more evidence appears.

Has anyone figured that maybe Jersey's request for pictures and Durga's (the flea or the Flea's unwitting partner) response of "I can do better" may be how we get the clip of Jen's police encounter? I still can't place the date thing, but it's kind of cool how it all flows together... like it works... going from the Jersey/Durga sequence into the Police/PQI sequence. I think all three of these go together, and and it is my opinion that pillow will fit nicely between blip and walkaway_girl, and that pillow will somehow connect the two large threads with the whole Aidan thing. We'll see though, I suppose.

I have thought about that. And I like the idea, but we don't have anything to back it up.

Found an odd sound file on ilovebees. Go to this page:

http://ilovebees.com/comatas.html

and turn up your speakers. Sounds like 'i love bees, I love bees...' can anyone hear this?

Emergency should not be the last thing. It should come before parasites and eyes, look at this:

You have emergency, the station down in flames right?

Eyes:
"Sir"

"Hold on, yes?"

"Your lady friend asked to deliver this to you, she was unavoidably called away, and the check sir,"

"Aw man, down in flames"

"Just the check will be fine."

So, she had to go the police station and the down in flames is a silent reference to that.

I find this highly unlikely.

I know there's been some spec on what would have called away Kumal's first date, but it's clear to me she was just some girl who decided to make any and every excuse possible to leave once he started talking about intestinal parasites.

If that's the case, then Jan's story is before the dating game. Is Jersey first, then? Or last?

Meta> Not true. Down in flames is a reference to the man's 'being shot down', meaning that his date skipped out on him. Not a ref. to the police station.

i have jersey first,

and i know what down in flames means in the place it is in, that he was shot down. But it had a double meaning. I mean, someone had to write a script to this, and I write scripts. They wouldn't just happen to use the cliche down in flames and then have a building burning down in another scene.

Double meaning.
