QUESTION: Fard's Moorish Science Ashram

New to this kind of game I need som questions answered. Since Aglaura (formerly Ong´s Hat ) is not real, sites relating to this place is either in the game or coincidental, right.

Searching the web on the "Fard's Moorish Science Ashram" , refounders of the town in 1978 (Aglaura history) I found this:

http://www.deoxy.org/inc2.htm

Interesting? In the game?
If so "Chaos never died".

To many things connect. This must be something:

1. The Book Ong´s Hat. EOTW has an add for it and it is published by STARE, incunabula, see http://www.incunabula.org and http://www.deoxy.org/inc1.htm also refers to the same organization.

2. The text refers to an old but hardtofind road that leads to "the Gate" and the ISC. And this is from the Aglauranj site:
"A group of residents recently discovered an old hiking trail beginning along the edge of the Lake of Tears, near Del Doyle's Cranberry bogs and running down through Lebanon State Forest and into the Pine Barrens. The first 3.5 mile segment was found in December, 2001. In May, 2002, they started to place trail markers, expecting to have the trail open by early summer. Despite several strange occurences and unforeseen delays, the first portion of the trail was officially opened during the fall of 2002."

3. The Dobbs. Are the twins mentioned in text related to the Mayor.

I think this is something. I just stumbled across it from the wrong direction. ...Right..? Comments please.

You are right, there are a lot of connections to information/websites that already existed long before the game started. The PM promised that this adventure would have it's roots in known folklore and mythology, weird occurances and sightings in local towns (in real life). So he takes information that already existed. Then the Incunabula group finds it'self getting a ton more hits and investigates. Probably contacted the PM and made a deal for the link on Wes'd site. Voila! Makes perfect sense.

Good for us - we get more background information about the region and the mythology. Good for them - they get more hits on their website and more people interested in their book(s).

Read up and you might gain futher insight into happenings in Aglaura.

Haven't you ever heard of suspension of disbelief? -Ed Wood

I would think that since the Ong's Hat book is a real book with copyrights, the PM would have contacted them first. I only say this because I suspect that the STARE site is a little more in-game then we may suspect. Plus, notice how the Ong's Hat site seems to have been using Bookcrossing for quite some time and now Dale has shown up there. Confused

I'm going to keep my eyebrow raised towards those two sites, you can be sure.
