[Not-Too-Wild Spec (I hope)] The Operator's Ship

I've been reading over the variuous information posted about the axons, both those that are hot and those that aren't (yet).

And in many cases, the axons were in or near an Applebee's.

Well, the obvious (and quite meta) conclusion is that the 'bee' part of Applebee's is part of a private joke of the PMs. But a slightly less obvious one - and one that's definitley in-game - refers back to HALO: The Fall Of REACH.

Earlier, Melissa remembered watching REACH burn under the Covenant attack. This means she was on a ship - and, as we've surpised from other data, it was an ONI spyship.

One of the three ONI spyships at REACH was none other than the APPLEBEE!

My theory is this: that Melissa is subconsciously telling us which ONI spyship she was on: the APPLEBEE.

As we can't contact Melissa directly, perhaps it might be a good idea to ask the Sleeping Princess if she knows (or remembers) the name of the ship she was on.

I think this is the third time I've linked to this thread today...

Your thread's become rather cluttered with tangential info, GSC.

That, and the fact that it didn't come up when I did a search for this theory, were the reasons why I started this one. However, if it needs to be merged, do it then.

Big O's post here more or less laid to rest the original theory, but left the possibility of it being either the Applebee or the Lark open.

Ignore me where I misread some stuff and continued to argue for a bit longer Smile

Summary: It could be the Applebee, the Lark or a similar ship we don't know about. No conclusive evidence since references to the Reach are tenuous.

plus didn't someone else post basicly the same post in week 3? the payphones are probably just a nod from the pms saying we're right, but in truth it really doesn't make much of a difference..it gives a name of the ship, and further links the game to halo. but yeah, hell email the SP it might be a good idea.

Dude... The Orange County, CA Axon was next to a "Virgin MegaStore", what was she trying to tell us with that one?

That she's single and avalable? Alright! She's insane, but beggers can't be choosers.

"Female AI traped on alien network seeks rescue from strong male cyborg hero."

Or it was something like that.

What does THAT have to do with the game?

The APPLEBEE connection could be important later on. That . . . that's just a failed attempt at humor.

To paraphrase dizzy.wav:

"Sorry, toots, but for the yucks to come, the joke's gotta be funny!"

Meh. It was a butchered marathon terminal reference. One of them was a personal set up by one of the AIs... Err. Nevermind. Nothing to see here, carry on.

Regardless, it would go on the same logic as oh.. look, this is near MARATHON station.

I admit, HHM's comment was a funnier way of putting it.
