If I'm understanding your question correctly, it sounds more like you're looking to do a simple puzzle trail and not an ARG.

Trails have been implemented in all kinds of MMO environments, from old MUDs to SL, WOW, Sims and others.

Here are some of the variants that have been followed, here, for you to gather ideas from.

that sounds about right. Once I do a simple one for the kin, then the kin can input their ideas for a larger one for the server. thanks
