After I got Lugnut's last e-mail (which I only just now recognized as an H.L. Mencken quote)-

Quote:
There is always an easy solution to every human problem -- neat, plausible, and wrong

I sent him a message saying that I'd keep at it. Came home tonight to this response:

Quote:
I've done what I can. The hands are in motion now. Might be a good time to unarchive any electrical engineering data stored in your memory banks.

Lugnut

So... electrical engineering is a clue? I'll have to look into it tomorrow... circuits are fried from a long day.

UHG, so torn, so torn.... I want the "mac & cheese" shirt so bad, as we all know, I do love me some cheese but... I really hate macs, and i would hate for people to think it was an endorsement. I will have to buy it anyway, it is too cute to pass up - plus I also kinda hope to get a kloo with it!

{I don't want to offend, but I do have to question though how they are saying all proceeds go to a charity when they are doing it through cafe press, am i just confusing "all proceeds" and "all profits"?}

And it is glorious! Made me very very happy this morning.

It's also longer than 6:45. But by timing, the 6:45 mark comes in the space between Rowan saying "How's that work out for you?" and Tim saying "Uh". So I can't figure anything out from that. It's just after Tim's said "Sometimes I connect 3", and you can see three people walk past at that instant, but that doesn't seem to work either. Am I missing something obvious?

What a shame that hick showed up. I'm a bit worried he might be from the D.I.C.S Church -- I hope they don't start harrassing O11iver more!

In other news, Tim and O11iver are sending me a t-shirt today as a thank-you for H(e)x's video as well -- but being in Scotland I'll probably get any resultant clue later than you folks.

I really enjoy all the videos so far. Smile

From an IG perspective, I don't think it makes sense that this is the video. Tim and 011iver don't know about any of this stuff. I would expect the video in question to be located either on MBILF or RFF.

That guy looks IG. Especially seeing how he called Tim "son" while about the same age as him. Laughing Seemed very holier-than-thou.

Someone posted a comment on the date video. The Truth. The name links to GHR. I think we have little doubt that GHR is IG? We are probably receiving a response from them in form of a new video soon.

When I saw the video I was also thinking the guy was IG, as he also refers to them as being with a robot... maybe a OOG jerk would say it was just a guy with boxes over his body pretending to be a robot. Blasphemy! He must be part of the anti-robot church, for sure, or other anti-robot group we don't know of yet.

Rather than look at the messages from lugnut as clues to a specific puzzle, it's just as easy to see them as warnings (and as such, plot development).

In light of Pastor Ludd talking about a coming 'reconfiguration', a 'robot information network', and a reprogramming of our machines through the electrical grid... lugnut could be suggesting he knows something about such possible events. He's said that he's being watched, that he knows too much, and has sent Orwellian quotes about being able to plug in to every individual wire. All that, and a warning that we should be prepared with electrical engineering knowledge, suggests Pastor Ludd may be onto something.

Given that it's Carol Coldoil who's behind Robot Friend Finder (and apparently MBILF), and that he's the one lugnut is fearful of, it seems quite plausible that's he involved in something sinister. The name 'Coldoil' itself is allegorically foreboding.

Anyhow, as far as trying to make sense of all that communication, this is my current 'solve'. Guess I'll e-mail all the folks involved and very subtly see what more I can get out of them.

That sounds like a good set of deductions.

I wish I could get something out of lugnut, but he hasn't responded to my messages. I'll try workin with Pastor Ludd as well . . .

A t-shirt contest sounds like fun, although I doubt I can come up with anything with as much universal appeal as the mac & cheese design.

MBILF Swag has arrived!

Hey cats-

I'm back from Indiana, with MBILF swag at my door!

Tim sent me a clock, with the mbilf logo in the middle, and instead of numbers, symbols that are familiar from computers and stereos.

I haven't been following this one too closely since I've been out of town doing family stuff, he mentioned he sent a mug to someone else, and that they go together....

Anyone able to post a picture of that?

I saw something above as part of a user name that looked like it could be a time, maybe this will help.

Note attached with the clock reads below, as well as a picture, the face is all black, the white at the bottom is a reflection from the shirt I was wearing when I took it.

Quote:
Hi Adam, I am sorry I couldn't send you the mug too (I think they go together), but I sent it along to Rowan (last name here, I took it out for her privacy, don't know if it's 'out there'). 001liver met her on RobotFriendFinder... maybe you could switch if you wanted the mug more Wink

We've been working on this in chat, got the same username, and have tried just about every type of

Per 'guest' in chat-

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
username: heartburn
password: TUMS

Type it just as it is above Wink

That leads to a page with an access log that shows lugnut recently uploaded:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
http://www.mbilf.biz/users/admin/lastwill.html

Which looks like it might be morse, but as Rowan pointed out, is actually binary. And her translation-

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
My Dear,

Im so sorry you had to find out this way, but if youre reading this, it means that Mr. C has found me out, and has taken steps to destroy me. Its too bad, I was just getting used to this great new body of mine. I guess it was my fault for digging too deep into the servers, intercepting one email too many of Mr. Cs. Ive potentially uncovered something that could spell the end of all robot-kind, I dont want to reveal too much to you right now, I fear that if you know what I know, we risk Mr. C powering you down as well. I cant let that happen to you. Ive done my best to cover my tracks, but Im guessing if that idiot caught me, itd be possible for you or any other server bot to track down the information. Im so sorry, we will always have / paris.html

Yours forever,

Lugnut

Highwind then pointed out some source code that led to two images:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
http://www.mbilf.biz/users/admin/metrics/metrics1.jpg
http://www.mbilf.biz/users/admin/metrics/metrics2.jpg

Which is where it looks like that electrical engineering knowledge would come in handy.

The fact that Lugnut's RFF profile changed today to 'Lugnut Mark 2', with a photo that just says 'ADMIN' rather than a picture of his new body, suggests something bad happened. And will happen.

Good work all!

Would have more, but kinda sleepy Razz

There's also 2 more passworded pages. One at:

Some resistors, a power source an inductor and a capacitor. These are not the types of components you would typically buy at an electronics store.
Requires the voltage divider law and the ubiquitous V=IR.

If anyone wants me to explain the electrical engineering better, just let me know.
