I left her a reply. Very Happy

And got a quick reply. Apparently there used to be a "list of worries" on his personal page. She's never heard of the 8th spoke.

Edit again: Dang Erin, you be THOROUGH.

Well, maybe ask if she knows anything about his work? Or ever heard him mention Nathaniel? You can explain that we found her father's site because of a letter he had sent to Nathaniel. You know, so we don't seem super creepy or something....

She says he never had much to worry about, can't recall any of the worries. Hmm...

I got a reply from sara!!! She says her dad's been missing since the beginning of may...wants to know if she can help.

Hey folks, trying to catch up - been away most of the day and only have limited availability tonight, so we'll see how it goes.

Anyways - I'm a bit troubled about how Sara posts anonymously on Niel's blog - I sure hope somebody doesn't try to "spoof" her identity and pretend to be her, since no valid identity is being used. It would really suck to get led on a wild goose chase.

I guess the "real" Sara could always post a reply saying it was fake, but... let's just hope it doesn't get into that.

For my part, I've tried all manner of URLs related to the "list of worries" on Niel's page, but to no avail - worries.html, listofworries.html, personal/worries.html, personal/listofworries.html ... I think that's about all for now.

Even if she is a fake, it's entertaining to talk to her. The list of worries intrigues me though. I can't find anything on it either, though.

IF she's real, it seems like her main job was to tell us about this List of Worries. But what do we do about it?

Edit: Ha, Niel was born on march 27...

She just posted that she's going to register for an account so it's not so cofusing.

"Sara's" suggestions:

Fishing, sailing, mythology, some combination thereof?

Just to clarify, I didn't think the comments up to now were fake... I was just concerned about the possibility in the future.

Should we take a closer look at Pygmalion, Eileithyia, and Orpheus? Those are the only mythological things mentioned on Niel's Random page, right?

Yes, those are angles I've been taking...I'm looking for some pattern, any pattern, in his random things page.

I think Eileithyia is our best bet. It's a boat and has mythological meaning...

EDIT: I just don't see anything...

I agree. Also, Haddock, Niel's favorite fish, can be found at his favorite fishing spot, Georges Bank. I'm not sure if that will get us anywhere but I thought I would put it out there just in case.

Maybe a weird irrelevant coincidence but niel mentioned winged cats in his blog regarding sara's prank, and the author ursula k. le guin wrote a series of books called the catwing collection
