I'm trying some of the dates now, though what would 61 be on the dial?

Edit: The box begins at 2-0-17, just in case it ends up being significant. I doubt it will.

According to my indexes, this is the center dial decoded, continue the numbers around clockwise.

According to my quick look at the four edges you have highlighted, they are all the same.

Ah, I'm sorry. I didn't clarify what I meant to say. I meant that from looking at the highlighted edges, all of the dials are the same.

What do you mean? The highlighted symbol at the top of the dial is X or 0.
This is equivalent to a rotation of 3: A=3, B=4, C=5 and so on.
Match up the symbols, letters and numbers and you can decode any message written with the same glyphs.

I don't know if anyone mentioned this, but there is a note on the right hand side of the desk by the headphones that reads: "SHE WAS HERE ?!?!?? HOW DID SHE FIND ME??? Why no attack? What is this thing? WEAPON? Improvised bomb??? What do all these symbols mean?"

Does this mean the Big Sister broke into his study and left the box there? One of the Little Sisters? Someone else? Meltzer's daughter's birthday is probably the best bet, but it wouldn't hurt to check for birthdates for the other girls or try entering in their disappearance dates.

I'd suggest you look at page 9.

SUCCESS

I HAVE OPENED THE BOX

The solution is indeed 825 however my original solution relied on A being equal to 3. A is the first (zeroth) letter of the alphabet so taking A=0, I opened the box by turning the dials to the symbols for 8 2 and 5.

You can open the box my moving the dials to the symbols for 8 2 5 in my "sequence" diagram, then advancing each dial by two three places counter-clockwise.

Good work! I'm going to work on decoding the message on the sheet of paper.

The note:

Translates to:
ITSCOLDDOWN
HEREDADDYCOME

I'm going to see if the markings on the inside of the box yield anything special.
Aside from that, I think we've hit a dead end.

Edit: "RKBYMREBMEMERUO" up to the Splicer mask. Just jumbled letters.
So now, we wait?

Look closely. Those symbols are upside down.
I see the word "remember"

I see, possibly, "You remember my". I'll work on these.

EDIT: Alright, I flipped it.
"MREBMEMERTNACIYADHTRIBWENAEV
RIBYMREBMEMERUOYODYADHTRIBY
ADHT AEVA"

Backwards:
"[IH]AVEA[NEWBIR]THDAYBIRTHDAYDOYOUREMEMBERMYBIR VEANEWBIRTHDAYICANTREMEMBERM"

Nothing found. Same stuff as on the outside.
