According to the Lostpedia article, the Institute was using Sarin gas for ESP experiments... but according to the wikipedia article on Sarin(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarin_gas), it's a lethal chemical...so why did they think this would be useful for ESP?

EDIT: @oikon7, they just used the characters from the reply from r33pich33p and substituted them in the sequence that Elliot gave us, a couple of pages ago.

Yep, and check this out, on the homepage.

That's one of the locations on the map Elliott found in his brother's things. I think we're on the right track.
