new message on the answering machine...
It seems Meltzer told Roscoe Inman (apparently, from the Office of Naval Intelligence) about "all this" (the locked box, its contents).

Edit: It also seems Roscoe, despite almost certainly knowing about Rapture (gave Meltzer the classified document) and the significance of the objects, tells him its possibly/probably a trick. Roscoe is leading Meltzer down the wrong path?

new item on the map, too. perhaps there is something we are missing... it says "Doesn't anyone see the PATTERNS?"

and now has a string attached to it, like you would a string web diagram...

thoughts?

If that is true, then Roscoe is using Meltzer as a source of information on the kidnappings/big sister/Rapture and then trying to convince him that it's a fluke/hoax/trick so that Meltzer doesn't get wise. Certainly sounds like something an intelligence agency would do. If Meltzer finds out that Roscoe knows the whole story, he will be furious.

in the interest of keeping an open mind, i'll pose this:

did anyone else notice that the map has 17 total Xs and a report tacked to it states 34? where are the other reports? did they not report anything useful, or has he not gotten their info yet?

So we send a self addressed envelope to his updated address? Is that the PO box or the Fairview house?

it would be the P.O. box. the letter states that you should send all info to the box now, no other address.

Transcript of new Message

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Meltzer, this is Roscoe Inman. I received your message. But I'm in the field on a ONI [office of navel intelligence] assignment and I haven't been able to acess a private line before now. Look, I think you should take all of this with a grain of salt. Remember, your story's been in the newspaper, this recent contact may not even be connected to the abductions. It could be some cruel trick, or someone attempting to manipulate you. To what ends, I won't conjecture. Anyway, take it under advisement.

Looking at the transcript, I think my initial assessment of Roscoe was wrong. I'm thinking when he's talking about tricks and manipulation, he's specifically referring to the note in the box (written by the Big Sister?). I guess Meltzer figured out the code and told Roscoe.

Interesting stuff...

Few questions and few things I noticed...

1) The radio that seems to be playing...

I let it run for a good 30 minutes.. and it never looped once.. but I heard a faint song playing, and then it was like someone talking but cant make out what was being said.. Does anyone have a way of cleaning up the audio? It's def a male voice, but cant understand what it saying... it also scared the hell out of me, since my headphones were cranked lol...

There was a ton more you just have to let it run... Like I said it never looped on me.. not once.. *looking at clock*.. been over an hour now... Man this is a creepy.. and impressive audio loop...

2) Box on the floor.. Has the three dials on it , covered with strange codes, and it rotates to show more of the symbols on the back... I just now looked back into this thread (last time was when the map was still up) so not sure if this is new or not, but thought I would mention it.

And also wanted to ask. Has anyone been able to find any reason for you being able to move to the left towards the front door of the office.. I looked but nothing is clickable...

If any of this has been pointed out already I apologize, wasn't sure and wanted to point out a few things that I noticed =)

Love it.. this one actually took off hehe =)

Yeah the box has been opened already, revealed a message, some drawings and a splicer mask...thats it. also the reason for the left/right thing was to take you to more info on the floor and tables, but it has been cleaned up and filed in the filing cabinet.

there you go...up to date...check the older posts...

the audio is good though...but i cant make out what that man is saying...also a little girl and a woman can be heard

anyway i've sent my letter...damn I hope it works or Im gonna be super bummed...this better be a full fledged ARG!
