Hey FSURobbie,

Thanks very much for welcoming me. I will do as you say - go through some older posts and pick it up from there...
Do you maybe have some suggestions about the active ARG's that haven't started that long time ago and that I can still join?

Strange symbol

Hey guys, glad to join the fight!

I saw a wierd symbol at the bottom left corner of one of the posters.

the one at comic con that says "THIS AREA IS FOR HUMANS ONLY" "NON-HUMANS BANNED"

I have a cropped version of it, but I don't know how to put it in my posts.

Somebody HELP!

Can I jump in?

Hey.

This is very interesting, and i think I'm gonna join my first ARG.

YAAAAAYYYYY! :3

Anyway, I've been reading, and I got up to page 12, but then I decided, "screw it."

Anyway, if anything really important happened in between then and now, I'd appreciate it if you'd let me know.

{PS. Sorry about posting about the crest. I hadn't known somebody had already mentioned it before...

Can't wait for this movie to come out

Hi Everyone, I signed up for the MNU stuff about a month ago. I found this site last week. I decided to wait until I had read through the entire thread to catch up . New to ARG's, but I've read about them.

Anyways, I just received an email from a character named Christoper who seems to be running the blog now. He mentions that he has "resurfaced," so perhaps this is actually George with a new alias? Even all the blog entries are marked as "posted by Christopher".

Also, if you read the very latest blog entry they have a twitter feed and a facebook page up now.

Just a few weeks until the film premiers. Hope this gets more interesting.

Cheers.

Hi everyone!

I spent all night last night reading through all the pages in this thread... brain overload, hahah.

I'm signed up for MNU updates as both a human and a non-human under different addresses, so we'll see what happens. I've never been a part of an ARG before, but have been interested in the concept for a while. I have free time right now, but things will get crazy in July, so I may just end up lurking... still excited to see how this develops though!

Do we have anyone in Phoenix that would want to look around to see if we have any more clues?

I'm in MN, otherwise I'd be all over it! I'm all sad for the aliens.
Just got the update email for the trailer and the panorama page (http://www.district9movie.com/?hs308=email). after you watch the trailer you get a gorgeous panorama of the district. I don't see any clickables, but I'm still looking.

I heard on the news today that Chastity Bono announced that she is beginning the sexual reassignment process to become a man. Coincidence?

(adding obligatory "just kidding!" for those who don't know me)

i think the idea was that they had made a script out of this arg that casted a male character as the reporter, and due to the script they could only have a male character. While it comes off as sexist i think you can compare it to a casting company looking for a guy to play batman, you obviously cant cast a woman as batman. Atleast thats what im hopping the situation is and they just didnt communicate things very well because they are either stupid, or dont want to give away plot hints. I think they have gone and added a female contest but i see how this can kind of be a slap in the face

Trouble is, they've actually said that their marketing is targeting this particular demographic, which is why it's limited.

Thing is, we as an audience are not paid actors. We're potential customers. I mean, part of me foolishly hopes that a movie that deals with topics of segregation/exclusion would then have a 'controversial' marketing tactic such as this to drive it home, but I really kinda doubt that this is the case.

Anyway.

I'll have to go back and find your city -- I only zoomed in on my local dot last time, and enjoyed how people do get into the spirit of these things.

btw, I saw the trailer in the theater this weekend. It was an artsy place, where we saw "Moon" (i do recommend it!). I don't remember seeing any URL in the trailer, which surprised me.
