whew, just finished going through 18 pages of catch-up... There is a lot there to keep track of! Hopefully I'll be able to do more than just lurk here, but it will take my brain a few minutes to catch up with everything I just tried stuffing in it...

p.s. those dust-marks on the videos, quite a few of them remind me of chromosomes. I think.

Could it be writing something backwards, from last letter to the first?

Also, I tried to find out what a difference engine sounds like when running, key-stroke typing sound in the videos doesn't sound even remotely close... but I did think the end-stroke, like a keyboard-return sound was similar to the sound the engine makes when completing a rotation.

I didn't have time to look at them all, but listening to video 1, some of the end-stroke's were off-beat, whereas in video 6 they seemed to be perfectly timed. I could be hearing things, and sadly don't have the time to complete the thought.
