[ANNOUNCE/UPDATE/SOLVE]All the WAVs in three tasty pieces.

Not sure exactly where this should go, but..

I've put all the WAVs together as three seperate stories. Hope you enjoy!

If this is trout, sorry - not searched these boards in a while, and I'm in a hurry. Everyone and their dog is messaging me Very Happy

I hope people like this. It seems very clear (at least to me) that this is the 'right' answer to the WAV audio puzzle, as when you edit out the bits of dead air and clip them together, they run together perfectly.

Yeah, what really helps piece them together are the background noises.

The editing app I used (Goldwave) really helped. Let me zoom in right down to the waveform level so that I could match things up perfectly. I've even learnt how to spot a warning klaxon in the background just by looking at it - and hence knowing where exactly to splice two files together.

Many thanks, Max. Want to hit it in Cool Edit to 44.1, and put to CD to listen to Smile....

Risking a trout here.

Shouldn't Jan's story follow Jerseys? There is the wind down at the end of Jersey's and the wind up at the beginning to Jan's. Jersey asks Durga to spy on Jan and it seems she is delivering.

Trout
most def my friend.... i posited that same thing on about page 75 of the "monster thread of doom", only to find it (and my name) referenced on page 93 or so (which was just..... weird)

but still, yeah.... "great minds" and all that... i think this one needs its own thread

edit: and now it has one Smile

I always thought they all start at the same time.

Notice how in the start of each story, there's a system shutdown caused by a possible power outage?

Jerseys story begins with Genie restarting, and he's surprised about it.
Kamal's story begins with his radio link to Hiro going dead for a moment.
Jan's story begins when a power outage puts the military base on alert, in advertently bringing attention to her.

The starts seem to be simultaneous, although it's clear that Jerseys only lasts a couple of minutes, Jan's spans a few hours, and Kamals plays out over several days.

i agree with you completly Max, but both theories work together... Durga could be showing Jersey what's happening with a few minutes of delay, when Jan gets to the police station, she could switch to real time

Hey Maxdamage, have you or yoru mirror considered converting these files to MP3 and/or OGG formats to save bandwidth?

They're already in MP3 format, just with ".wav" extensions. You can verify this in a number of ways - in WinAMP, for instance, just hit "Alt-3" while one of the files is playing and it will indicate MP3 format.

I've been renaming all of the files to .mp3 format and using the ID3 tags to organize them - it's quite useful.
