I'm pretty sure we're looking a Sterling Cranes. Here's the Sterling Crane website.

EDIT: There's a photo gallery, but didn't spot Nitti's background.

Well those are definitely the cranes from the picture! Well done!

Seems a legitimate 'real life' company though so not sure if we're meant to do anything with it.

I'm completely out of ideas.

Anyone else getting a bit frustrated? Feel like we've been battling with unsolvable puzzles for days. I don't want it all to be handed to us on a plate but we need SOMETHING more to work with...

Feel like people are losing interest and it makes me sad Sad

I feel the same way, porridgebrain. At times, we seem to get ahead of the game, and other times we feel like we're missing something obvious.

Maybe Elliot will post a new blog soon...

EDIT: I was extremely bored, so I googled "code deciphers" and got this page on how to do some of them, maybe it will help: http://www.wikihow.com/Decipher-a-Secret-Code

Hi folks, my head explodes over this riddle but I possibly have a promisin attempt: I noticed that every number given, translated into letters is a Roman number: 9=I (=1); ?; 3=C(=100); 13=M(=1000)...possible hints for that are the R (perhaps ROMAN) and the Roman number 2 (II)...So (again possibly)the Questionmark is Number 10 =X (=24)...Is anyone able to follow? It would lead to the following:

9 ? 3 13 R.1 : II
9 24 3 13 R.1 : II
I X C M R.1 : II
1 10 100 1000 R.1 : II

Can anyone make something out of it? Perhaps it's an equation or something, the colon could mean DIVISION. Any ideas???

EDIT: I would try some URLs but neither know on which site, nor have time to do so..so hopefully the team will try Wink

That's very interesting, especially since it goes 1 10 100 1000. I'll try some different things, like urls and stuff.

Wow! FANTASTIC! I think you're definitely on to something here - going to see what I can do with it

Not having much luck.

The ? makes me think this is the number we need to find but I've tried variations of X / 24 / 10 and having no luck as URLs.

Plus I just can't figure out the last bit R. 1: II

1:II could be a ratio (is this what the R. stands for?) 1 to 2?

And in our usual 'seeing 27 everywhere' answers I noticed that ? (X or 24) + the next door number 3 = 27

Detirmined to crack this tonight.

Inspired! If : is division, wouldn't X be multiplication? As in:

1 x 100 x 1000 : 2 = 50.000

Or something like that? Don't quite understand how you got the 24, but R is 23 in the alphabet (XXIII in roman numerals), so that could tie together somehow (R.1=23.1?). And I'm not sure why 1 would be included as it doesn't do anything, so I'm probably way off.

Anyway, what's 50.000 in Roman numerals?

I reached 50,000 as a conclusion, too. I tried it as various urls, but nothing worked.

I google searched roman numerals, and i believe 50,000 is L with a bar under it, although I could definitly be wrong Very Happy

I thought / meant divide, not :

??

Usually : means a proportion of something or a ratio...

I thought so too, at first, until I found this on Wikiepdia:

Quote:
The colon is also used as a division sign: "a divided by b" is written as a : b. However, a vertical line ("a | b") is more common

Also, this could pertain to our Roman numeral thing:

Quote:
it [a colon] was also used for chapter numbers in roman numerals

Usually yes, but I learned to read a colon as division in school as well. Wikipedia says:

In some non-English-speaking cultures, "a divided by b" is written a : b. However, in English usage the colon is restricted to expressing the related concept of ratios (then "a is to b").

50000 is L with a bar above it I believe, not sure if this helps anything but still Smile
And in the Netherlands, if you want to devide something you use the colon but I think that the : is used here as some sort of indication of a chapter or a passage Confused I'll think about it some more

A while back in all this I looked at Revelations 1:2 (especially after the apocolypse reference in the finalis info) but it doesn't seem very relevent:

"who testified about this message from God and the testimony about Jesus the Messiah".

Not much help but just thought I'd post what had been tried.

I don't know if this means anything...but when I first saw the clue, I thought the '?' could mean to multiply. So 9*3 is 27. 27 divided by the 2 (II) is 13 with a remainder of 1 (13 R.1). but i didn't see how that could mean anything important.
