Alright ladies and Gents, it's Saturday and this means it's time for another Echo Recap.

Known Events
- Meltzer gets rock picture.
- Meltzer figures out the cypher and opens the lunchbox, pretty sure that the stuff inside is from his daughter, but has doubts.
- Meltzer begins investigation into 'The Vanishing' (All the people going to Rapture).
- Isidore, UFO nut, provides him with magazine. He thinks its related to UFO material. Meltzer thinks Isidore's a few Adam short of a plasmid.
- Meltzer finds info on Steinman, Langford, and Suchong.
- Benny Stango, the rather nasty cop looking into the disappearance of Meltzer's daughter gives him an 'I've got my eye on you' call.
- Roscoe Inman, the ONI agent, calls Meltzer to warn him to watch his back and that things are happening at ONI that caused a lockdown.

Questions
What's going on at ONI? (Staff change? Deciding to use Meltzer as scapegoat since Stango and others already suspect him? Inman mentioned 'dissidents' could it be Red Scare related or House of Un-American Activities? Timing is right, but that seems to be a bit of a stretch.)

No new information on R. Quain, the author of the 'Not-Rapture' story.

Why did Big Sister give Meltzer the lunchbox in the first place?

That's all I have, tune in next week for more info.

Oh, and here's one thing I'd like to clear up about Bioshock 2's timeline because a lot of people get sidetracked by this.

The SINGLE PLAYER GAME, where you play as the Proto-Big Daddy takes place 10 years AFTER Bioshock 1.

The MULTIPLAYER GAME takes place BEFORE Bioshock 1, during the Civil war between Atlas and Ryan's forces.

Thus Bioshock 2 has BOTH a prequel AND a sequel to Bioshock 1.I hope this eases any further confusion.

The letters on the wall

Does anyone recognize any of the letters that are hanging on the wall by the picture of the doll? Are those letters from us?

Please post anything you have, or give us a summary?

Something new?

Something on the wall -- partial translation (on the road, done with an on-line translation (my German is rusty and moderately horrible).

A slightly more comprehensible translation, accounting for umlauts and a few other things.

Missing persons remain a secret
Munchen – After nearly twenty years, hundreds of missing persons cases remain unsolved. In the chaos of the post-war period and protecting the restructuring of government local official and American authorities received hundreds of reports of missing persons. One can assume that most of the missing from the land had fled. However, today a new movement requests the government to reinvestigate these cases.

Are these letters from the players or are they letters from the game?

I use Gimp and used a color ripper. I think they wanted us to see it because the address was slightly visible.

The first one I posted is from a Christina Barrera(?) and the other is from a Mark Degen. I'm guessing its from people in the game.

Can we get someone to verify at the other boards that these letters are NOT from real people?

Germany has a bit of coastline on it's northern side, sharing with Denmark. it is quite possible that there may have been disappearances from there during the initial move to Rapture and during the girls going missing.

been busy with work (again), so i may not be on as much as i like. i read this at least once a day, but i may not always post.

I have listened to the radio for a bit now. Is There a chance that it could be a big daddy? I know its a far shot but the words dont make sense. And things that are transmitted from far distances can sound foggy and messed up. I'm not sure how a big daddy could transmit though....
