Preparations for Friday

Gang, I think we need to tread cautiously here. As excited as I am about getting my dream notarized, I fear for the worst.

The location has yet to be determined, but I suspect it will be somewhere downtown SF, close to Jejune central.

We need to arm ourselves. With microwave shields, bells and practice up on our Jazz Hand technique. We need to be prepared for a possible ambush by the goon-droids.

In any case, I do look forward to Friday.

Hotprune etc.

FEELZ THE PASSION of the Donut w/the triple post. HEED: [ideogram of donut here]. Packing up my tinkly bell.

Hotprune: I spent a semi-dumb amount of time trying to figure out where that photo was taken. Grocery store in back. Curb detail. English. Etc. Also, anyone who doesn't know about http://tineye.com now doesn't even not know that. Unless someone already mentioned it.

I think you're right CK. I played around with it for a bit more after I posted my 'initial results', but am now convinced it was just a happy coincidence that it looked like anything at all. You stare at anything long enough, and it starts to look like a pattern..

I think the in-game clues have to be somewhat more straightforward, otherwise they'd risk the possibility of people completely missing stuff completely..

Very Happy my dream has been accepted!!!!

I'm all kinds of excited to happen to have the day off when he will be in town.

Also I keep a bell on my key chain at ALL TIMES just in case of JeJune harassment (okay it was there before but now it serves a purpose).

I have seen talks of pre-meets...are they still in the works?

RE: Friday Preps

indeed we must be cautious, just yesterday I saw a plain clothes man in a bucket hat scrapping stickers off a electrical box including the precious microwave harassment warnings...he was not city employee...but by the time I went across the street to stop him...he was already gone halfway down the block..sticker scrappings with him...I do not take this as a good sign...

Donut

Good lord, that's a fantastic donut!

I'm away at work and unable to open my EWPA mail. Have there been any updates on the location of the notary?

Dankon. At some point, to really drive the "pronged doughnut" phrase home, I want to make a doughnut-shaped night-light. Stick it right into the wall to illuminate your home. Except I'm not good at physical fabrication.

No location confirmation yet, we're all in suspense. Which is fun because I'm giving CaptKing a couch to crash on and we're trying to coordinate where he's going first. But we can do this, we're creative.

Hey, meet-up-interested-folks, I've been thinking of where we could go afterwards. Crumblydonut may be right about it being near places where things have gone down before, so assuming that's true, here's a potential list of North Beach places for after-kanoodling:
  • Kennedy's - Indian food and Irish pub combined. Food's pretty good and if I remember right, they have air hockey.
  • Any number of candy shops on Columbus St. - I mean, candy shops, hello.
  • Washington Square Park or Union Square - there should still be some sunlight, let's go hang out outside. Let the recent solstice not be in vain!
  • Initiation field trip - we can show you where Everfalling/O/CaptKing/Jenpop/myself got called to organize an ACTION - and then we can grab some tasty Golden Boy pizza nearby.

Like I said, this assumes North Beach. That's a really weird assumption for me to be making. If we're downtown, it's a bit far to walk if people have to get home any time soon. I dunno. Brainstorming now, I'll be better at this once we have coordinates. I'm trying to think of all-ages venues, here.

Update: Ha, not North Beach. Unless the goons are checking this thread in which case HELL YEAH TOTALLY NORTH BEACH.

Park.

Donut: YESH! It reminds me of a place in (San Jose?) that serves their donuts with the donut hole re-attached to it on the side. Like a delicious bonus bolus.

So. Location.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

If you are completely desperate for parking (and I hear that it's a bit of a bear in that area), you can always park where the tidal music plays. Turn North on Lyon Street from Mason Street, park there. Parking goes way far East, check it out:

http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=37.807525,-122.443992&spn=0.000949,0.002747&t=h&z=19

It's a bit of a walk, sure. Disclaimer: Don't know what the parking status is for that area at that time. Read signs and gain intelligence.

Parking, Planning

Big loop on this one.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Not downtown at all. The only venue of note is the Exploratorium/Palace of Fine Arts. One of our operatives called the Exploratorium and confirmed that (an/the?) event will be taking place after hours at 6:00pm and that we take the main entrance.

They said "Open bar", but maybe they don't know or they are throwing a wrench.

Tungman says there's parking by the tidal horn, but I think there's AMPLE parking in back of the exploratorium, especially after hours. That is, if they allow it afterhours.

As far as a get together, that might be tricky due to the location. For me, I work downtown and will have to get there via public transit. And I imagine that for most, they'll have an equally difficult travel scheme.

EWPA says the event will take an hour, but I'd wager based on the extremely high likelyhood the notary will be at the exploratorium, they'll have some kind of reception/hi jinks at the space.

The exploratorium did not say how long the event was scheduled to last.

Also, Michael Jackson died.
