Help starting a real life ARG

Hey, I'm looking into making some sort of ARG type of scavenger hunt game for some friends of mine. Something that would maybe last an afternoon, or a few days.

I haven't participated in a lot of ARGs, but I lurk a lot. I've never attempted to run any sort of game, but I love games. I'm familiar with a lot of inter-personal games like Mafia and things like that, so I guess what I want is a more elaborate version of something like that, that could be played in real space with elements like clues, scavenger hunting, rules, turns, etc.

Does anyone have any experience doing anything like this and would be interested in helping me out? Or are there perhaps any resources I might be able to check such as pre-made games I could modify or use parts from?

Thanks for any help, I've tried searching in google but I figure this is probably the best place for any sort of detailed help.

The silence is deafening. Sad

Perhaps I should ask someone who is starting/running an ARG if they would like an apprentice to help manage things. I supposed that could be a good way to learn the inner-workings.

I don't but I know a person that runs something like that. Not sure how much help I can offer but please feel free to PM me and I'll do my best to help.

Strange, I resent it.
