ahahahahahahaha yes

yes.

Okay, the PM just earned himself a gold star. And I may consider using rubber-toed shoes rather than those steel-toed ones I was thinking about.

In the meantime, Port has been chatting up me lately over Twitter, hahah. So while he's not dead or anything, we're not really talking about anything important. :B

I'm gonna blame it on him being cooped up at Starr's place or something, but lol.

Hahaha. To me, it looks like a flitered-through picture of the sky. What if it's the courtyard that the Oracle hangs around in a lot?

Also, where does this match up to the other two maps we've gotten? I'm betting the staircases run through on all of them, or something to that sort. (I'd look myself, but duty calls!)

Screw him, he's Canadian. We've almost got this locked up anyway.

In the meantime, if he wants interaction, tell him to hook up with that menopausal bitch Rage, he probably wants someone to wax bullshit with now that he's found his inner woman.

So, after looking over the maps, I can at least safely say that the first one we got is probably the roof or top floor; the 'boxtown' map is the floor immediately beneath that. And the other one is just under that.
What the symbols stand for, I'm not so terribly sure.

But! I've forwarded them all to Port. Starr's supposed to be back in CA tomorrow, hopefully with good news.

... and now we wait, I guess?

So for your amusement, here is some of the totally unrelated-to-anything conversation Port and I have been having in 140 characters or less:
Quote:
klokworkalex: I've got plenty of time to memorize it. So, what do you do for fun? Hobbies other than art?

clas1ca: You might be disappointed! My other hobbies are still artsy. Read novels, comics; music, play violin; film; video games. Collect old books.
What about you? Other than films, unless you totally gave up on them. (Which I hope you didn't!)

klokworkalex: Why would that disappoint me? I love all of those things, except video games. Never understood them. I used to play saxophone though!

clas1ca: Hah, even the old books? I played sax, too, once upon a time. Wasn't very good, so I stuck w/ strings. Did you play in a group, or go solo?

klokworkalex: Always solo and always sucked! The only song I ever really got down well was Suicide is Painless. Ironic, no?
And I love old books. The smell of them...wondering whose hands have turned the pages...everything. I have a first edition...
"Deathworld Trilogy" by Harry Harrison and "Jack of Shadows" by Zelazny. I know...not THAT old but still great. Well, I used to have them.
It's amazing how much we have in common...while having so little in common.

Aww. GUYS CAN I KEEP HIM?

Also, since no one mentioned it:
Quote:
ArlenRage: I've been called to see Goran with the promise of a job across the pond. I need this for personal reasons and you're going to need the time.

What I know, my friend, is that those who get cocky miss the details.

There are those who think that sending me to New York and then County Cork will prevent me from helping you in what is to come. Some of the same think that preventing Starr from leaving the District of Columbia - which they will do - will leave your poor Port lonely and distraught, overlooking the ocean and just waiting for the moment that a .50 caliber round fired from a nondescript fishing boat bobbing on the bay will burst his head open and leave all of your hopes for saving the world drying to the wall of Starr's love shack. Those same people, drunk with their own intelligence (not unlike Wallace Shawn's Vizzini) believe that with the last straggling Watchers hiding under rocks and trying to send you clues coded in ways that won't start computer screens blinking in concrete bunkers all across Maryland, the grand quest to save the Oracle and to finally destroy what was once a good natured car mechanic from Kankakee, will ultimately be derailed.

The rub is that all of those things may actually be correct - unlike some, I can't see the future.

Here's the other side of the coin, though. Your folded brood doesn't actually need me; Port King is a survivor made transparent by his own tragedies - transparent, but not weak; and the Watchers, although thinned substantially - for which I accept a bit of responsibility - have already served 98% of their purpose in this little passion play anyway.

So what do I know, Syn? I know that it's not King who needs to know those maps; because although he may get across the waters of Bodega and up a rusted ladder on the northeast corner of the Brightman, it will be up to all of you to get him through that gauntlet. I know that your friends have the key and I know that the key and the symbol must meet if King is to succeed on that rock. I know that your Mr. Wulf is still confused by what he holds, but that it will become apparent when the time is right. I know that things which have appeared innocuous and unconnected throughout will prove crucial if you are to succeed before the appointed date. I know that no matter how much we want it to be different, times moves at it's own pace. And I know that those who get cocky miss the details!

I involved you all on purpose. Remember that.

A.R.

So! I had an interesting conversation via text today while at work.

Folks, meet Chuck:
sent from Starr's phone wrote:
(707): I really would have thought a guy like Starr would have a nicer phone.

To which I sorta '... um' at.

I warn Port, in the meantime:
twitter wrote:
clas1ca: Shit. Port, just got a message from Starr's phone that was not written by him. Starr's either dead or in serious trouble. This is bad.

klokworkalex: What do I do now?

clas1ca: Man, I don't know. Don't think you're not safe there anymore, but I don't know where to send you. I'm at a loss, Port. Caught me unprepared.

klokworkalex: You're absolutely killing me here, Court! I guess I'll be heading out again. I'll stay local and check in as often as I can. Be safe.

And then back to textland.
textland wrote:
(952): Who the hell are you? Where is Starr?

(707): Starr is busy and it really doesn't matter who I am.

(952): Actually, it does. Identify yourself or give the phone back to Starr.

(707): Hm. I tried to hand the phone to him but it kept falling on the floor. Go figure. My name is Chuck, but I doubt if that helps you much!

(952): What?? What did you do to him?

(707): Sorry baby, I've got other things to do now. TTFN

Goddamnit.

So... Jacky has made his point. I don't know if Starr's still alive or not, but there goes Port's easy way into the Brightman. Now we have to do it the hard way.

Really should've expected as such. I KNEW Starr going to DC was a bad idea... /grumble grumble

Um, thanks?

That's Ecclesiastes 3 he's referring to, by the way:
Quote:
1To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

2A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;

3A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;

4A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

5A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;

6A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

7A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

8A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

9What profit hath he that worketh in that wherein he laboureth?

10I have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it.

11He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.

12I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life.

13And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God.

14I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.

15That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.

16And moreover I saw under the sun the place of judgment, that wickedness was there; and the place of righteousness, that iniquity was there.

17I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.

18I said in mine heart concerning the estate of the sons of men, that God might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves are beasts.

19For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity.

20All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.

21Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth?

22Wherefore I perceive that there is nothing better, than that a man should rejoice in his own works; for that is his portion: for who shall bring him to see what shall be after him?

The only thing I could think of off-hand that was quick and easy, was the wiki. I'd give more, but at work, and actually working. Glad you're back though.
