[SPEC] No character mentioned in ILB is the Master Chief. Look, he was stolen from his parents when he was six, trained by a drill instructor under the surface of Reach until age 14, genetically modified on a space station and then molded to the MJOLNIR where he entered into active duty until cryo'd, then re-awakened before the events of Halo. After that he was involved in the events of First Strike, then he and Cortana high tail it to Earth where he does the best EVA manuever in known space history.
Dang, I haven't even played the games and I feel like we know the guy. Not only does his history simply not fit in with any of the current backstory, Bungie has already told us so much about him that he simply wouldn't be much of a puzzle.

I would agree with this COMPLETELY...except if Master Chief lives through Halo 2, and there is definitely Time Travel involved here...that leaves all sorts of room for him to be here.
Not that I think that. Having the main character of the game in the ARG seems to me to not be very likely and a cheap plot tactic at that. Besides, none of the characters we've interacted with in the ARG besides Dana even seem to be human.

Ah the old time-travel loophole... You gotta love it (and hate it).
What would bad Sci-fi be without it!?

MC is capable of time travel via the crystal that the Covenant were after in the novel Fall Of Reach.

My sense of ilovebees is that, indeed, Master Chief might not show up. In fact...(this is a bit 'o spec), it looks more like that the EXACT events of Halo 2 won't be expressed in the ilovebees saga. I think the .wav stories take place BEFORE the Covenant war. In which case, ilovebees could be a standalone story. I think it'll focus more on the history of the Haloverse, giving us a deeper background for the events of Halo and Halo 2.
But, this is just my "sense" of events. I make no claims as to the truth of my claims, either subjective, objective, or horizontal.

I am of the opinion that this story will somehow explain how the Covenant manages to find Earth. I think the height of irony, and complete coolnees, would be to have ARG player actions do it. Whether this has already happened somehow with the axons (which would eventually be revealed as more plot is unraveled), or is yet to be done. It would be really, really cool, though, if the Halo community itself unleashes the Covenant on us.

I agree.
I've said it elsewhere and I'll say it again... I deffenetly think that the Cov made it to Earth and something happened to make these AI crash through time, but not space.

Based on the way Beast 1 went, methi nks this arg wont go anywhere NEAR the halo mythos. I hear a ton of halo names bandied about and have yet to see any of them working in ILoveBees. Please give me a direct point out, and none of this "Oh, Melissa is actually Cortana" kind of thing. Is Spder or Pious Flea within the Halo mythos?

People keep saying that, but let me point out three things:
1) This isn't Beast 1
2) We're already knee deep in halo mythos whether we like it or not
3) This is all Bungie's story and they have full license to do what they want with it. The books were written to their mythos and their story, Halo 1 and 2 obviously are, and there's little reason to think the ARG wouldn't be as well.

From what Halologists with much higher degrees than my own are saying, yes - they fit just fine.
Obviously by this post I completely agree though, that the "random female character X is clearly halo female character Y" is often no more than loose connection. Heck, I found lots of good connections to show Halsey/Kelly to be tied to it, but even that didn't stand up to the test and was proven wrong.
I also think this probably ties into the Covenant invasion of Earth as a bridge between First Strike and Halo 2, etc. Plenty of facts from the story help support it, as well as holes in the Halo plotline. Obviously we're a ways off from seeing the big picture though.

I'm not sure what you mean Tony. On a certain level, Ilovebees has already swan dived face first into the Halo mythos. I mean, it's littered with references to the Covenant, Reach, ONI, AIs, and other Haloverse conecepts.
But I think you are right that ilovebees will stay distant from the story of Halo 2. Bungie likes a good story, and why tell the same story twice? I think the ilovebees saga will turn out to be a rather interesting look in a heretofore neglected part of the Haloverse: life as a civilian on Earth in the Haloverse.
