Oh noes! Crying or Very sad

Maybe take another shot of the Fishspear and try again?

Ok, I'll take the paper. Here's my turn for today:
Quote:

"Queen, we seem to be alone. Maybe if you take another shot of that...whatever it was...you can set yourself straight."

Looking about I shrug my shoulders.

"Some party."

I walk to the corner the piece of paper is in and pick it up to inspect it.

Lairo, I think that the key might be in you being told that you've only seen the king. Perhaps you take the form of whomever you look at? Doesn't help much now that everyone has left the room, unless that piece of paper is a picture of you?

TV wrote:
You thank the pretty, young ghost and get her name: Alice. She seems to be waiting for someone, but you don't pry into her personal affairs.

Back in the room with the glass, you pick up some shards and search for anything blood-stained, preferably a sheet. In fact, there is one! It is a black sheet with several droplets of blood on it. Giving in to how awesome it actually is to be a temporary, vegetarian vampire, you tie the sheet around your neck and have a make-shift cape.

Now you're ready. All you need is the bat.

Me wrote:
I burst through the doorway to stand in the hall again, not caring to make any more or less noise than comes naturally. I stand there with my hands on my hips in the most regal pose I can muster while thinking logistics. A good deal of time has passed since I last saw Ifi and the bat on the roof. It's unlikely that If and the bat are still there. Getting back to the roof would be difficult enough that it's not worth even trying. With my only logically-more-likely option out of the way, no location is better than any other. Might as well head to the vampire hunter and hope to run into the bat on the way!

I dash to the stairway and jump down, letting -- nay, encouraging -- the cape to flutter in the artificial wind. I land on one knee, the cape drawn dramatically across half of my face and survey my surroundings.

TV wrote:
Using impeccable logic and then deciding, quite rightly, to fully embrace your vampire status, you fling your cape around your shoulder, concealing half of your face, and flutter, like a bat, down the stairs.

It feels very right to behave this way, and you are overwhelmed with a sense of otherness. You are special, and you like it.

You're also hungry.

On this next floor, you find yourself alone in a hallway. There is one room to your right, and there are three rooms to your left. Behind you, to both your left and your right, are staircases leading down.

A ghost appears to your left. He is a strange man wearing a white lab coat and flicking a coloring pinwheel that he holds in his left hand.

"It's not my fault," he informs you. "Ask your friends. It's not my fault."

You stare. Whoever this man is, he's definitely not right in the head. And you thought you were odd for being a bloodsucker.

"Tell the Governor," he says. "Post something public that he can see. Tell him it's not my fault."

You have better things to worry about, so you start to ignore him, but he pleads.

"I can't leave this place unless you do! Tell him you know who I am! Please! It's not my fault!"

I'm on a trip and can't do much investigation at the moment. About to continue driving. Does anyone know who this ghost is, wearing a labcoat and holding a pinwheel?

My guess would be it's a character from Myth of the Seeker, Funnel Production's last game, as pinwheel's played prominently in it.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to play that game in it's entirety so that's about all I can add. Did anyone here play Myth of the Seeker?

I'll arrive at my destination today and should have some time before I have to post my next move (especially if they keep doing it at the time they have been -- about 7 hours past the time when they first started this!). I should be able to research that game before posting. At the very least you've pointed me at the appropriate place to do research.

I mostly posted this to say that this ghost seems a more likely burial than Nests IMHO. The two burials in the last game were from their "real" game from before TV1. Sounds like this guy is from a "real" game before this one. So who's the other one?

You walk away from the scene just as the King/Queen begins panicking and searching for her dress. Apparently she doesn't like wearing a tuxedo.

There is a door at the other end of the room, and you walk out.

There, you find yourself at the bottom of a grand staircase that goes up to the left and to the right, with a great statue in the middle of a stout man wearing a top hat. This must be the main entrance to the mansion. There is a door to your right and another one across the room. Behind the staircase is the door to the Grand Ballroom. To your right, next to the door, is another staircase leading down. Behind you is an enormous door with a note on it. The note reads, "NOT TO BE OPENED WITHOUT PERMISSION."

Me:
Quote:
"If only there were signs around this place...", I think as I wonder how to get to the study. Reading the letter I was given again, it seems that the study is through one of these doors. The door behind me is very tempting, but wanting to make sure the study isn't behind the other doors, I decide to check them first. I walk to enter the door to my right.

Has anyone explored around the Statue Room? I remember the stairs down go to the Kitchen, but nothing else.

The Wiki section for that room is embarassingly light. I will try to update later, but I'm about to leave for a bit.

I am pretty sure that the one across the room goes to a hallway where I am. Nothing else that you don't already know, though. No idea about the study.

I'm very curious what's at the top of the big stairs, but I'll leave you to your own move. Wink

Ok fellas, we got some savin' to do:
Quote:
You explain to the wolf that your friends are both good, reliable people, and that they should be trusted. Like a puppy, the animal wiggles his nose just a little and then sneezes. You know that he is accepting.

The others notice that the wolf appears to be pointing deeper into the woods, and they begin their usual quips about haunting each other with bad puns if they don't make it.

"That's cruel and unusual punishment, Muff," you add.

And then the three of you set off with the wolf.

It is not long before you come across a fire at a small camp. There are some not-so-nice-looking ghosts there, boiling a pot and laughing at each other's jokes, which are significantly less refined than your friends'.

You and the others hang back and listen.

A small, lumpy ghost asks first, "How'd you catch him?"

"I just threw a rock up at his wing, and down he came," a taller, thinner ghost replies. "Would you believe this kind of dragon is afraid of a simple thing like that?"

"Bah," the lumpy ghost says. "Then he deserves to be eaten!"

A third ghost sits wringing his hands, and he pipes up. "I think we should let him go. It's not a good idea to keep a fire-breathing dragon locked up in a tent. Even if it's afraid of rocks. I don't like it."

"Shut up," the thin one says. "We have him tied up with anti-fire ropes, so quit your worrying. He'll be dragon stew before long."

The wolf whines in panic, and you scratch his head to comfort him.

Seems we are up against some not so bright ghosts. Anti-fire rope is one thing, but the dragon is in a tent?

Okay, my ghost would seem to be Dr. Dark Owl, who was the bad guy(!!). I didn't get as much info as I would have liked as much of it was in audio form (and not easily available anymore, from what I can tell).

But I will not be helping this guy out. Since I put in some work after finding the name and after not finding the badness, I'm probably going to finish my work but compel the Governor to NOT free the ghost. Heh.

Edit: I'm evil. Also, I got the idea that the two staircases in this hallway COULD be the two staircases leading to the statue. While I know a for-sure one-move way to get to the staircase I decided to risk it in the interest of new map info.

Me wrote:
Feeling my hunger growing, I lick a little of the blood on my cape. It's done partially to scare the Doctor and partially to satisfy my belly.

Oh, I remember you. Yeees, I do, Doctor of Pinwheels. I pause to let him get somewhat elated. Then I drop the bombshell.

Here's the info for the Governor: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3564/3679736091_e723050280_o.jpg

I'm starting to enjoy my new nature quite a bit. Maybe too much. But I give in for this ghost after the things I had heard about him.

While he is hopefully reeling from the information that I have given him, I go down the stairs behind and to my left.

Looks like our flying friend is tied up.

My reply:
Quote:
"Damn," I say quietly, "I knew I should have grabbed the knife on the way here..."

The dragon is tied down in a large tent, and I can hear it struggling to get free of the ropes.

"Shut up, ya flyin' newt!" I hear one of the ghosts say. This isn't going to be easy.

"Okay, guys...we're gonna have to find a way to either free the dragon without alerting the ghosts, or somehow distract them so we can untie Draco over there. Or maybe we can get that third guy to help us...he doesn't seem to be into the idea of chopping up and eating our flying friend. Unless someone can find a blade or something sharp, we can't cut the ropes, so we'll have to untie them. Any ideas?"

Everyone thinks for a moment, but no ideas as of yet.

"For what it's worth," I add, "my idea is that one of us approaches the clueless group of ghosts there and distracts them with a conversation. Then the other two can sneak around and free the dragon. Hopefully before something bad happens. Of course, it's just an idea, I'm open to suggestions."

Wow, not sure how to even respond to TV's last reply...Maybe I'll just take another turn to dance with Lairo... Cool

TV's reply to my last turn:
Quote:
Regretting how the ball turned out, you walk over to the opposite corner of the room and pick up the piece of paper. It is a notice of an event, but it reads very strangely… almost like a command.

The Graveyard Event Is Coming Soon!
All Travelers will be present. Life beads and plans will be required.
In order for one of the buried bodies to be eligible, the Governor must see public proof that the person is missed and important.

At another end of the room, the Queen is crying. It is odd to see yourself kneeling down to the floor in tears, even if you know it isn't really you.
As she sobs into the floor, you see her body begin to change. The dress she clutches in her hands slides itself back onto her body, and the tuxedo disappears. Her hair changes. Her eyes change. She stands up, still sniffling.

It is the Queen again. She smiles.

Now that you are alone and back to normal, music begins to play overhead.

The two of you meet in the center of the dance floor, and you extend your arm to her. She curtseys. With the kind of grace that would put royalty to shame, you come together in step with the music.
And though you are trapped in a strange and dangerous place all by yourselves, you dance.

So whomever is staring at the door, I'm sorry if I bite you. Sometimes it just sortof happens. For an example, look at when I was bit. Know that I don't mean to bite anyone.

As far as the graveyard thing goes... I've met the only ghost that I know of that's up for saving... and I don't want to save him. Did anyone else die/disappear in that Creepy Luny Inn ARG? What if we save nobody??

I've some updates!

TV:
Quote:
Again, the ghost shakes her head. "I am sorry," she says, "but you are mistaken. The only people who may be buried in this graveyard are non-residents. These graves are fresh. Some of your friends will definitely know of them, I am sure."

She looks you up and down. "Do you still wish to ignore the graveyard and travel to the Grand Ballroom instead? I can give you a different task if you would prefer. The Governor tells me that we are in need of a Transition Village theme song. You may ask your friends for assistance with this. If you can bring me a simple theme song, I am sure the Governor would thank you with a trip anywhere in the village you like."

Reply: I decide to create the Village theme song, needing a day or two to work on it. I plan to e-mail it as soon as it is completed.

Quote:
The Governor awaits your response with excited anticipation.

He also brings to your attention that the Graveyard Event will take place soon. Lifebeads and plans are required. All travelers will attend.

Reply: I am extremely pleased to bring to the Governor and the citizens of the Village its theme song. Designed for a wordless vocalist with a chorale-style piano accompaniment, it is entitled "The Village Awaits." It is a brief, simple tune that conveys the mystery of the village. Written in c minor, the song has a melancholy feel until it ends with a Piccardy third, bringing the melody to a pleasant, more uplifting end.

Attached are two files: a midi file, which you can listen to easily. Also, there is a Sibelius Scorch file, in case you are interested in viewing the print music. Scorch is a free program for viewing scores and music and available on the web.

It is my great hope that the villagers enjoy this short theme, composed specifically for the Village.

LOL! Hope you guys enjoy it, whenever you may hear it.

Sorry, I haven't been following TV2 and only now saw that you need information about Creepy Luny Inn.

Yep! Randy Porknut died. He was Earl's best friend and died heroically, he absolutely deserves to be saved. (Earl's the one that was rescued in the first part of Transition Village.) Several employees from the pinwheel company also vanished or died. One of them, Jeremy, was definitely a 'good' guy.

I look around the room, I have to see myself to be sure, I'm really not me.
With some tears in my eyes I search around the room for a mirror, or something which I can use as a mirror

The King walks away from you and begins looking at some items on the floor.

This has been a horrible night. You were so glad to be so beautiful in your dress, so happy to be Queen of the festival. It had been a little fairy tale story.

And now, here you are, kneeling on the floor in tears, wondering how you will ever set yourself right again.

The dance floor is very smooth, and you can almost see your reflection in it. Once your tears hit the ground, it is almost as though you have a mirror. There, though you know you are shaped as the King, you see your true self.

Suddenly, the dress you clutch in your hands slides itself back onto your body, and the tuxedo disappears. You feel your hair change. Your skin moves. Things feel right once again. You stand up, still sniffling.

You are the Queen again.

You smile at the King across the room.

Now that you are alone and back to normal, music begins to play overhead.

The two of you meet in the center of the dance floor, and the King extends his arm to you. You curtsey. With the kind of grace that would put royalty to shame, you come together in step with the music.

And though you are trapped in a strange and dangerous place all by yourselves, you dance.

I enjoy the dance, as we float over the dance floor.
After a while I watch my king and ask him:
"My Highness, tell me, what have you been looking at some seconds ago, is there something important?"
I stop dancing and start to fumble around in my purse. There she is, the life bead I found. I show it to the King.

yay, finally I'm me again.. and Robbie, wow, isn't that romantic ^^

I wonder if the wolf and I can distract the ghosts while Muff and Fractal the Frozen free the dragon.
