Email & Blog Update

I sent Richie an email with the mp3 file attached, plus I asked him about the earring his mother gave him, and if she wore it all the time.

Richie wrote:
Thanks, as if I didn't have a enough trouble sleeping here. Swine Creek of all places? I've probably hiked right past where. . . Damn, I don't want to be thinking of that right now.

And I should be safe from the black hats, I've been hiding out here since Monday, and no black Hummers. Considering my past history, I don't think anyone's going to look for me here. Just got to avoid the janitor. Unfortunately, my cell-phone died sometime last night. So the only communication I have is this crap-ass slow P3 that someone probably picked up at a yard sale, and it's got some sort of web filter blocking half the Internet. (Including that NLI site, probably saw a word it didn't like.)

You're the third person to mention my earring. My mom gave it to me the year she died, it was from an old set that lost it's mate. It's the second piece of jewelry I've ever owned, the first was a charm bracelet I must have had since I was an infant. I haven't seen the bracelet in ten years, but if I remember right, it was silver too.

I've been thinking about it ever since I met Pers. How many parents let a six year old get their ear pierced. I always thought it was because she knew she was dying, but what if there was another reason. What if she knew what might happen to me? Why wouldn't she tell me? Why wouldn't my dad?

Where is my dad?

Got to go, I think I hear someone.

Are you out there?

So you've been watching me. Mailing cryptic packages. Are you having fun?

So are you one of the guys who tried to jump me Monday night? What are you trying to do, Tannhauser? What do you want? You said I'm not alone. . . Well, twenty guys show up on my front lawn and funny thing was, no one else was there.

Needless to say I'm not at the house anymore, and I'm not saying anything the bad guys don't know already. At this point, if you want to actually tell me something that might help me out, there's this comment feature. Use it.

hex2Ascii and Rot 13:
persitence is key

rest is somehow decoded (seems another cipher than XOR).

It leads to this site:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
http://www.newlupineinstitute.org/clinical/testing/download.php

Decode method:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The first part is hex -> ascii -> ROT13 as stated by AUZ505. The key is persitence = 70 65 72 73 69 74 65 6e 63 65. The remainder can be broken up into 5 equal parts all of this length. Then do XOR operations against the key, and ROT each part starting at 13 and decreasing to 9. This gives the URL shown above.

Stupid AUZ used 63 72 65 66 76 67 72 61 70 72 as the key. I forgot that this is the not 'roted' password Smile No wonder XOR did not work for me.

Nice work, molnar.

Do we know form numbers or or test type numbers?

The numers are:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
type: 247B, form: 8937
You get them from the source code of the last comment on Richie's blog.
They lead to this: http://www.newlupineinstitute.org/clinical/testing/247B-8937.pdf

Very nice find, welcome and all that jazz! Smile Used the Adobe files "color preferences" tip
which AUZ gave to check for hidden writing with no joy.

The NLI file which biowow found d/ls immediately on the new NLI page. Obviousely, have found no others (yet).

Nice find, biowow, and welcome on board.

I stopped looking inot source codes on these blogspot pages since there is so much unrelevant stuff. I guess this is the first time that there is indeed info in the source on a blogspot based arg.

I assume that this anonymous comment is from Tannhäuser.

Thanks for the nice welcome, amandel and AUZ!

I don't know if it helps, but I played a bit with this letter soup. Here are the words I found so far:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
rotate bitten egghead any afterwards warnings herd phony thoughts beg alone thirteen fang wolves burial far very dagger rampage earth traitor fear sinister howling murder fur mad blood mind scorn conspiritor hunting never amaze sad fate shudder shadow graveyard jury enter italy fan awaken carnivore fracture chaos truth boat fairness mercy endure under agonize idea ten

If you ROT13 the text, you can pull intelligible fragments out
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
- they are the latest in a long line
- albert would help us
- wolfgang would know
- sebastian would use us
- they are not us
- they do not understand
- they hunt us
- they use us
- they kill us
- even when they help
- they do not know
- what lies under
- their own path
- look under that path

There might be more that I missed.

Impressive work, molnar. How did you copied all those letters to your rot tool?

You can just cut and paste from Acrobat.

For me cut and paste does copy it in the wrong order. The copied string is in the order of the comlumns and not of the rows. So it is like:
IWTT.... instead of IPGC...

Hmm, that's odd. I pm'ed you the text.

I wonder if the binary in the image above the test type/form numbers is important.

Thanks.

What should we do with it? Especially with "Look under that path"?
