I messaged the admin asking about the password for the employee portal, got this in reply.

All employees have the right to use the employee portal. Currently, you also have the right to use the announcements page there as well. If there are any pages marked "Level I Access", you don't have the necessary permissions to use them.

It is against Institute policy to send any webpage passwords via e-mail, due to various risks and past problems. I can, however, provide you with hints for those passwords.

Password one: This part in the brain always makes me think of jazz musician Thelonious Monk because of their somewhat similar names. Not hypo.

Password two: temperance, silence, order, resolution, frugality, industry, sincerity, justice, moderation, cleanliness, tranquility, chastity, humility

Hope this helps! If you need anything else, please let me know.

Technically yours,
Gabriel Lorenzen

Huh-oh, looks like somebody gets a Trout , hee hee! We already discussed this here. Wink

Hello Project Dolor Temps!

We've almost complete hiring for the two positions of test subject and researcher. Beginning July 8th, we will no longer accept applications for either of those two positions, though a few more people may be added to our team for different positions after that time.

Additionally, here is a list of all the temporary team members currently hired. I will update with a finalized list after the 8th, as a few more may be added.

Courtney Researcher
Tony/Ript Researcher
James Test Subject
Dave Researcher
Noah Test Subject
Caroline Researcher
Redct Researcher
Will Test Subject
AtomicSnowflake Researcher
Ralph Test Subject
Nicko Researcher
Robin Test Subject
Lainie Researcher
Daniel C. Test Subject
Phoebe Test Subject
Daniel D. Researcher
Amanda Test Subject
Milo Researcher

As a reminder, pay no attention to Matthew and his Twitter/Wordpress accounts. He is full of lies.

Assignments will be given out soon. The more assignments you complete, the higher you will go in our Institute. Keep a look out for them, as they are sometimes limited in number.

Technically yours,
Gabriel Lorenzen

I can't wait for these assignments!

Will Darrell. How can we get that into a web address? I know it's jumbled somehow.

Haven't found anything that works yet.

New tweet.

Quote:
Perhaps if we split his name into syllables it could help.

Will Dar-rell
Will Darr-ell
W-ill Dar-rell
W-ill Darr-ell

That's all I can think of, even including ones that aren't really syllables. Can Any one make something of that?

EDIT: I've got nothing, so far, when I try to come up with stuff out of that.

Wardller
Wardrell
Warderll
erll ward

Nothing.

EDIT EDIT: He keeps talking about a web address. You think maybe this isn't supposed to be a wordpress blog, and instead an actual website with a blog format? Confused

Just found it, so I haven't taken much of a look at it yet. Just wanted to share the find! Very Happy

Awesome! Great work; I wouldn't have had the patience to work that hard. Going to check out the blog now! *Zoooom* Wink

OK, now we gotta figure out the password to look at the posts. Maybe Matt has a clue for us?

It's been driving me crazy for the better part of the day. Not easy to focus on work when you're going over all the different possible combinations in your head.

Great work paperbound!

To cover our bases, I tried the passwords we have so far to access the posts but no dice. Was there another clue I missed or are we waiting?

A search for "master" on the site brings up
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
http://ellwilldarr.wordpress.com/master-key/, but I don't know his birthday.

Got lots( and lots!) of puzzles for this one!

Okay, on key number 1 we have:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
add this deciphered message to the end of this url. Hope you like texting!

press 2 3 times

4 2

6 3

5 3

3 2

7 3

2 1

and the password clue?: He wrote a novel about love in the time of it.

The answer to the password clue is
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Gabriel García Márquez
wrote
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Love in the Time of Cholera

Which, when I follow the directions, brings me to a new post at
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
http://ellwilldarr.wordpress.com/master-key/keychain/one/cholera/
Don't know how to proceed there.

Number 2 has
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
a picture of a group of twelve rocks in the shape of an "m"
, the words :

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
observe carefully the two important qualities in this photo. then go here.

and a wall of binary:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
01110011 01101111 01101101 01100101 01110100 01101001 01101101 01100101 01110011 00100000 01101110 01110101 01101101 01100010 01100101 01110010 01110011 00100000 01100001 01110010 01100101 00100000 01100001 01110011 00100000 01101001 01101101 01110000 01101111 01110010 01110100 01100001 01101110 01110100 00100000 01100001 01110011 00100000 01101100 01100101 01110100 01110100 01100101 01110010 01110011 00101110

Translating to:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
sometimes numbers are as important as letters.

On 3 we will need a music buff to help out:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
get the chord numbers (don’t use Romans)… they will open the next page for you.

CM: CEG

FM: CEG

EflatM: B-flat DF

CM: GBDF

On 4:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
To unlock post number four, you’ll need to e-mail Christine Smith at servicesSPLATinstituteforfuturemedicine.com with your mailing address. Use subject line “4″. Seven clues available, first come, first serve.

When combined, they will unlock the fourth door.

I've already sent an email(two actually, I screwed the first one up). As I said, I'll let you know what I get. Wink

And 5 is a culmination of everything we'll have gotten:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
It culminates with the post whose password you search. Put all the previous post passwords together to gain access to the final clue.

You will need these passwords:

post 1 + post 2 + post 3 + first three letters of post 4

So, get cracking guys! Got lots of work to do, though with the hive mind whirring away, I have no doubt that we will bust this thing wide open soon. Wink

Number 1

Number one:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
http://ellwilldarr.wordpress.com/master-key/keychain/one/cholera/

password: marquez

The entry:
1900: he creates its vaccine

Well, no one created a vaccine in 1900 as far as I can google, but the nearest is the Pasteur created a vaccine for chicken cholera in the 1870's.

The closest I can find to 1900 is 1896 Richard Pfeiffer and Almoth
Wright independently prepare heat inactivated vaccine against typhoid bacilli, which isn't cholera.

A question on etiquette-- assuming we're all working on these puzzles, is it worth it to put everything in spoiler blocks? I'll do it if that's the way it's done, but I just assume once someone's solved it, we've all solved it and will move on.

Do you guys think that on number four, "Mailing Address" means your email addy, or your street address? I sent in my email address, but now I'm wondering if that is actually what they want.
