[Spec] 777 Bar

I realize much speculation has been gven about the nature of the XXX/777 bar crossing the top of the links page, so as per usual I apologize if this has already been pointed out. Since there is, however, no possibility of my crawling through 85 (probably 87 by the time I finish typing this) mindless pages in the Axon Forum, this is just going to be a leap of faith.
With that said, the bar at the top of the screen is bright orange, but there are several (as of now 3 or 4) distinct white markings at the bottom of that bar. I don't believe it to be totally off the mark to suppose that a lengthening of that orange bar will reveal more white markings and possibly an encoded message in the process.
On the other hand, I do realize that, given the heavy amount of visual distortion covering the entire site, these markings could just as easily be random noise. Either way no real conclusion can be arrived at for quite some time, but I feel it's an idea worth keeping in mind as we, possibly and hopefully, come closer and closer to 777/777.
Other suggestions on the possibilities for the 777 bar *as related to a possible puzzle* would be greatly appreciated.

With regards,

Ian Whalen

Trout, but only slightly since there's lots of noise Smile

The image is a scaled version of one of the orange buttons (I forget which). If you're using IE you can drag it into the address bar to look at it direct...no hidden message. Unless it's one of the corrupted buttons Wink

That's a pretty interesting trick with IE. I usually use Netscape, so I've never seen that before.
It's wierd though, because I was able to do the drag thing with all the other pictures around the site, but not that bar. I'll just take your word that its a scaled version of one of the orange buttons, but I wouldn't say that necessarily rules out that scaled version as being intentionaly corrupted to contain a message of some sort.

The orange bars are just the 'fun stuff' button being stretched.

Hi everyone, this is my spec Cool

The bar adds up to 777, this is why (maybe)

210 axons so far right on the links page, with 30 messages.

3 x 210 = 630

okay so this gives us a total of 90 messages like the ones we've just received, or 60 more.
meaning, there will be another two updates when all of the axons go hot on each page, as soon as they all go hot it updates to another set of 30 messages. this repeats 3 times.

Then we have 147 left to add up to 777.

49 x 3 = 147

(omg square root of 49 is 7 Razz)

so then 3 sets of 49 axons.

Taking into account that each message contains 7 axons, the 21 more messages after this stage. or 3 sets of 7 different messages.

All add up 111 messages. Wow freaky eh? Shocked

Thanks for reading Razz (p.s I did a search, hope this isn't trout)

Firefox

EDIT: taking into account that every axon has to be heated. which is a stretch, if only 2 axons have to be heated per message (so if it updates tomorrow) ill redo my calculations.

Forgive me if I'm not understanding your explanation, which is very possible given it's 1 am, why would the bar just slowly be adding up to 777 as we hit each axon? It seems to me we're just going to get more sheets with groupings of 7 for each message until we get a total of 777 axons hot.

[SPEC] communication methods

Just my thoughts here. While it makes sense that we WILL receive more messages to complete the stories we've been given, we've had multiple forms of communication before. Phones, as well as e-mail, hidden messages in images, html, etc. I think we should expect some future messages to come from a source that is not phones. Also, some of the axon calls reported Melissa saying something about being unable to continue because they didn't have the right equipment. She may seek alternate methods we haven't even seen yet. Wireless, video etc.

777 phone calls??

Totally agreed.

Working with 90 or more wav files can be quite boring...

Besides, 777 phone calls from Melissa... now THAT can be boring. And very annoying to be accomplished.
I believe she will find another way to heaten her axons... Maybe wifi or just the regular dancing robots.
