The first thing that sprang to mind when I looked at page 6 was a pay phone with buttons.
Quote:
The above histories tell us that the coin PAYPHONE / PAY PHONE was preceded by pay telephone stations or PAY STATIONS (see 1888 quote), which are said to have been in use in 1878. Early on payphones were also referred to as COIN BOXES (see 1906 quote), named for the box in which the money was deposited. I've never heard either expression, but I found examples of these names still being used in 1971, 1974, 2001, and 2004 (see quotes below). And standard dictionaries do define PAY STATION as being a synonym for PAY PHONE (coin or credit card).

The early PAY STATIONS were supervised by telephone company attendants or agents (such as an employee in a hotel where a station might be located) who collected the money due after people made their calls (see 1888 quote), but I don't know what the going rate was in those early times. The first public coin telephone, which was a 'post pay' machine in which the coins were deposited after the call was made, was installed in a bank in Hartford , Connecticut in 1889.

I can't find a solid Sound of Music connection, but the playwright (Howard Lindsay) was born in 1889.

I managed to fold back the bits between the numbered sections and discovered that the wavy bits line up that way. See attached image...

However, I can't figure out where to go from there.

I've been lurking and now want to have a go at making this make more sense, but I didn't see anywhere where the original was posted before you "folded" it. Can someone show me the way?

Whatever this is, it should help to find the input device on the substations. Is it part of the substations? Or just a clue for the input device?
It looks like an abstract rendering of a dispenser to me...

double-post--

I think I may have figured out the likely answer to http://twitter.com/36substations

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subway_(restaurant) [you'll have to adjust the link]

Subway was co-founded in 1965 by Peter Buck, and is based in Milford, CT. It is also certainly ubiquitous.

Don't know what the 'running tabs/gratis/apparatus' part is about, though...

Hidden in bold print. Laughing

I know, these links are damn hard to read on this board. Maybe underlining is better than bolding. Confused

This is a subject
And this is a description

I thought that the bold was because someone used the rarely-used "Subject" in creating their post. Didn't realize it was a link. Embarassed

How different does it look when someone does use that...?

Edit: Okay, it is a bit different. But yeah, that's what I thought the bold was about. Didn't think to hover over it.

You got a point there. In fact, when I looked at my post I thought it looked like it was the subject. They look very alike. I am not color blind (I think), but I can't tell it apart, especially since I have the screen dimmed.
Next time I underline if the first thing is a link. Very Happy

Nice idea. "running tabs used to" could refer to the now discontinued Sub Club cards which would keep a running tab of how many sandwiches you purchased and entitle you to bonus sandwiches for gratis.

Page 6 looks like Abraxas' dispenser, especially if the text box in the middle is folded away too.

LOL if the restaurants are the SUB-stations we're looking for.

Makes sense based on all the clues. No connection to electricity or robotics, but since when do ARG puzzles make total sense IRL?

Pass the popcorn...

My scenario is kind of the opposite. Chuck foils Pastor Ludd's nefarious plot, saving all of robotkind, leading 011ie to realize how wonderful and brave she is, leading to a happy ending.

I said the same to him on Twitter, and he was like 'Ew, no, that'd be like dating a sibling.'

Ludd's latest tweet very clearly verifies Dante's solve:

Pastor Ned Ludd wrote:
my final riddle is more opaque, for our stations, commercials Jared Fogle did make.

So now... um... we wait? The 36 are supposed to do their thing on the 13th. Johnny said everyone else needs to put a stop to things by the 12th, before it all goes down. But I don't know if anyone's really expected to stop anything, or if anything can really be stopped. I doubt random Subways will have some sort of input devices sitting around waiting for us all week.

Guess we wait for coordinates Confused

I woke up this morning, found the final two clues on my Twitter, and then just burst out laughing. SUB-stations . . . brilliant . . .

It looks like the input device is intended to be some kind of drink dispenser. This would fit in with PNL's view of the electrical grid, remember -- able to transmit and receive data from any random plugged in device. So I guess he thinks you can do something to robots by pressing buttons on a drinks dispenser? In which case maybe the whole joke is that the 13th will be a complete flop . . . ?

Tragically, I'm going to be away the 11th/12th, so I hope there is lots more to come Sad

Summary:
*Pastor Ludd has now sent the 6 pages to the 36.
*Confirmation that the codes need to be entered into the existing drink machines.
*If the code is entered in backwards Pastor Ludd's plan fails.
I have a sinking suspicion that the resulting drink will be something that only a robot could love. Laughing

HELLO MY 36!!!!

I HAVE HAD TO TAKE MATTERS INTO MY OWN HANDS AND I HAVE FIGURED OUT HIS SYSTEM OF LIES! SOMETHING AT THE CHURCH NETWORK IS WRONG AND I HAVE NOT HEARD BACK FROM JOHNNY. VERY FISHY. JUST WHEN MY INSTRUCTIONS WERE SUPPOSE TO GO OUT HE IS GONE...??? I AM SERIOUSLY SMELLING SOME METALLIC INTERFERENCE FROM HIM AND I CAN'T BELIEVE I LET SATAN SO CLOSE TO ME. NO TIME FOR CRYING IN MY STEW.

I AM EAMAILING THIS FROM THE LIBRARY AND FOUND MY PASSWORDS I HAD WRITTEN DOWN UNDER MY KEYBOARD JUST IN CASE AND I GOT INTO THIS ACCOUNT TO SEND YOU THE INSTRUCTIONS YOU SHOULD FIND THEM PAPERCLIPPED ON HERE. PLEASE TAKE ACTION IMMEDIATELY TO BREAK MY ANCIENT ENCRIPTIONS AND THEN PAY ATTENTION TO THE FOLLOWING VERY VERY CLEARLY

AS IS SOMETIMES THE CASE I DID NOT FULLY UNDERSTAND GODS WISDOM IN MY VISION EXACLY. SO THE DEVICES I THOUGHT WE NEEDED ARE ALREADY IN PLACE AND ARE HIDING IN PLAIN SITE! THE PORTAL TO CONTROLLING THE ELECTRONIC GRID SYSTEMS HAS BEEN IN FRONT OF US FOR YEARS. HOWEVER, IN ORDER TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN AND BACKTECH ALL THE SILICONE CHIPS ON THE PLANET AND MAKE THEM ALL INTO FROZEN TIN MEN IN THE FORESTS RUSTING WITH NO DOROTHY IS TO ENTER THE CODE IN EXACLY. YOUR MOST IMPORTANT CALLING AND THE ONE THING THAT YOu cannot fail in , is that you must enter the code in exacly into the input devices in order. And you all must do this without flaw. If any one of you makes a mistake or fails to do their mission, this will not work. ...and for GODS SAKE if you are going to make a mistake... well... JUST DONT. If that code accidentally gets entered in BACKWARDS, you will undo all the progress of the 36 and we may as well just put out a red carpet for the robosexuals at that point and invite them to dinner to kill us all!!!!!!!!!!

FURTHER... I NEED A CONfirmation image of yourself entering in the code so that I can keep track of the final results and be sure that we have done our mission. Be prepared to document. I will be doing the same. The days are numbered. Go Forth, Get DRessed and BE THE GREATNESS INSIDE OF YOU! YOu are CHOSEN!!!

Be stealthy, be quick, be acurrate. I will envision each step to that device as another dying robot, another decommissioned cube of metal falling to the ground in a clump, another deactivated device that could be used to turn against us as is their plan. THEY DONT SEE THIS COMING!!!!!! In their grand plan, they are still trying to snuggle up next to us and preparefor THEIR DAY, but we are going to throw a giant wrench into their doomsday and i wish i could see their little dimming eye LEDs as the last whir slows down to silence and a cough of smoke drifts out of their mouthholes. I wish i could see every stinking singl k some lady needs this computer

GO FORTH AND DESTROY THE ROBOMINATION!!!!!!
i will try to make an inspirational video for you, but not sure how to work all that stuff without johnny
PNL

The attachment is a 6 page pdf document with compressed versions of the 6 pages. Better versions of each page have already been posted in this thread with the exception of the last page. I don't even want to know what 011iver spilled on it. Page 1 is so blurry that I'm not sure I could transcribe it accurately enough to decipher.

I figured I'd post this for those who don't frequent the chat room or rowan's guide.

Supposedly, the 36 have to go to Subway, in costume, and enter a code on the drink dispensing machine. You should enter 5338 to destroy robots or 8335 to save the robots. You should take pictures/video to prove that you completed the mission and send them to Pastor Ludd.

Am I missing anything?
