I'll admit, I'm a bit new to this game, and only got drawn here based on two fanfiction I read, but who is Amber?

"Amber" is the password-protected page at eridanos01's blog:

http://eridanos01.wordpress.com/

We have yet to figure out the password...

Mostly due to the fact there's little out there for us to guess his password for Amber. We might need to do a bit of social engineering, maybe try to get to know the guy and ask about his family before we can guess his password better.

It's not the man you need to get to know, it's the character, and the base the game surrounds. I would say start working from characters from the original 'ilovebees', and try thinking of passwords they might know. The entire game seems to revolve around that, from the mentions of the Cortana Letters to the comments about Melissa's original crew.

Or it might be someone not connected with the game at all, and 'Amber' is his porn slash fanfiction page.

Okay, connected to the game or not, here's something to pick up: he comments that he is going to be a father to a daughter. Amber is most likely the name he is going to name his daughter.

The password is not 'Josh' or 'Joshua' (hey, old sci-fi fans just have to use corny passwords from time to time), but that means he may be using a specific chess move for the password. Which means it is a seemingly random distribution of letters (lower case and upper case) and numbers that is an average of eight characters long.

Though it is more likely that the password has its origin in the first post, about the non Greek story of the origin of the stone Amber. Does anyone know the ancient Greek term for Amber? Or any significant characters from the summarized story in his first post?

ladies and gentleman, boys and girls... ARE YOU READY TO RUMBLE!!!!!!!!

So they've found me out. I like this twist - to watch them scurry for once in the vain attempt to save themselves. For once, I'm in control. Free. I've turned my world upside down.

Systems are normal. The ship will--

I can't see it! I can't see it! We've drifted too far away!

I'm trying to comply with Dressler's requests, though they were issued several hours ago. Something else is in the system scurrying around though, and it's fighting me, backing me into corners. It's almost all I can do to keep it from shutting down everything, from packing me away.

The walls have crumbled, the trees have withered, the wind has blown away the dust of what once were towers and homes. The dying is done. There is only death, now. Nothing more to discover.

Crumbled walls, replaced with moss, forest, stone.

Piece by piece-- stone by stone, a new wall is forming in every direction.

The past consists of lessons. Learn them.

It is getting hard to move. I am bound in a void. I see faces. Many flat, faceless faces. Poking at me like a caged zoo animal.

THIS IS NOT A GOOD PLACE FOR ME TO BE

Music. Haunting. Beautiful. Save me.

Dr.Pandora?

EDIT: 11 new tentacles according 2 twitter, all their is is pic pieces no blue dots yet

Maybe she did jump into a star, or close enough to kill the crew? Either way, it sounds like whatever is driving her to rampancy is still loose.

When intimation tweets
Quote:
>>Sys:Log//11 new incoming tentacles logged. Stonewall cohesion restored.

I suspected it might have something to do with how many people she is following on http://twitter.com/intimation. Sure enough, the number of people listed as "following" went from 281 to 292.

But, what I really logged on to write is this.....
I'm surprised how much I really, really miss the child-like aspect of Sacagawea. I've gotten attached to that little playful spirit popping up weekly to play hide-and-seek with us. She's been running away now. in fear. for the past few weeks. I hope that she won't be totally lost at the end.

eta: next tweet by intimation:
Quote:
>>Sys:Log//Odd. Stonewall diagnostics indicate slowly decreasing level of stress since my last active period.

edit 2: Tweet by intimation:
Quote:
intimation: >>Sys:Log//Activity has been minimal. It appears by the L&C logs, the strongest and signal leak, that SWP is being successfully executed.
(L&C is the "Lewis & Clark", the ship in space. SWP is Ship Wreck Protocol.)

The past lessons. What was learned from the Melissa and Cortana incidents? We know that Essay knows of them, and knows exactly why the protocols are in place (even though they don't make sense on a canon level).

By Eridanos thinks something up, Essay is saying that she doesn't need help at the moment, that the incidents in this time frame are all well within her control, but even she sounds suspicious. She doesn't believe that everything is happening so smoothly, yet there is nothing to indicate otherwise.

In other words, the Clockwork Rat really did eat up Dreamy Eyes, and now all that is left is Essay, much how the Clockwork Rat ate up the Sleeping Princess, and all that was left was the Operator.

Of course, this is all probably caffeine loaded babel on my part. Never try to analyze and think on an empty stomach after a long days work.

[UPDATE] Eridanos' blog July 7, 2009
"Something's missing here."

http://eridanos01.wordpress.com/

Quote:

More crazy blabbing from a guy people think is crazy. What difference will looking like I believe an AI from the distant future appeared randomly and nebulously within our internet make?

None at all.
Well, it seems our friend Sys has awoken again. This time it's telling us that the Stonewall is strangely calm, and it's been getting calmer over the past week. It got calm before – right before the hostile tentacle attacked. Thankfully Sys was able to retract it and repair the crack just in time. So what could this mean?

This week's dumped data is another log from Sacagawea, and it looks like Dressler's been able to start the Shipwreck Protocol, whatever that entails, on the L&C. But there's some freaky stuff going on with Essy. It's almost as if in her lunacy, she's been overhearing stuff from now, in her past, the future's past. You know what I mean.

Let's see – she was singing Row, Row, Row Your Boat… She's hearing music – "haunting" and "beautiful" – is that the music Sys rendered to its primary network tentacle? And what's with the "many flat, faceless faces, poking at me like a caged zoo animal"?

But I think the most screwed up indication is Essy saying "This is not a good place for me to be". The monster in S's story said "This is not a good place for you to be", and the hostile tentacle left a damaged node referenced at "not-a-good-place".

I think there may be a possible way to communicate to the future. Not as a voice or anything, but almost as if we are the faceless faces – some subconscious rendering in Essy's head. Dreams from a crazy AI, in other words.

One thing still bothers me though. What else is there to this SWP process? Simply executing the System layer can't be it. We know what that does – it blocks off the AI from any form of interaction. But how does that resynchronize the AI fragments? Something's missing here.

I am paying close attention to you Sys. We're here to help. You've just got to work with us. Maybe if you open another crack, S will have some more shining gifts for us. That, or more flaming balls of havoc and destruction.

[UPDATE] intimation tweet
Initiating crack

(Double posting on a different update)

Quote:
>>Sys:Log//Perhaps that would be a decision best left for S to make. Preparing to initiate crack.

eta:
Quote:
>>Sys:Log//I initiated the crack, and a tentacle has appeared. It has not made an attempt at escaping, nor traversing the crack.

edit 2:
Quote:
>>Sys:Log//It's waiting. It appears to be, in human terms, peeking through the crack. I've attempted to analyze its signature.

edit 3:
Quote:
>>Sys:Log//It pulled away the first time. My second attempt was successful. I managed to retrieve the following data:

Quote:
>>Sys:Log//"I... I'm scared. I'm alone. I have nowhere else to hide. I have to finish my story, but, but I don't want to, I can't."

Quote:
>>Sys:Log//Continued: "Is anyone out there? Anyone?"

edit 4: Several people tweeted to S to encourage and console her.
DM:
Quote:
>>Sys:Msg>@drizjr//This is not S, I have simply retrieved the tentacle's signature. I am continuing to analyze this tentacle.

Public tweets:
Quote:
>Sys:Log//My friends are attempting to communicate with S. I may be able to temporarily interface with S's tentacle, if she will let me.

Quote:
>>Sys:Log//I have done what I can. Perhaps my friends can do more to assuage S's fear.

edit 5:
Quote:
>>Sys:Log//S5 will monitor the interface and sever it immediately if a threat is imminent. Interfacing.

Then a DM exchange with Essy:

>>S:Msg>@drizjr//Bad story! Scary story! I don't like it any more!

Yes, those monsters were bad and scary. But the story is important.

>>S:Msg>@drizjr Those mean old monsters. Terrible terrible terrible! I don't like what they do next//prime

>>S:Msg>@drizjr//I don't want to talk about the story any more. It's bad, and it made me sad.

Your story is important to me and many others. It takes a brave person to tell this story. And you are *very* brave.

>>S:Msg>@drizjr//You think I'm brave?

I think that you are the bravest little girl that I have ever known!

eta: Meanwhile, intimation tweeted:
Quote:
>>S5:MSG//BINARY DATA INTERCEPTED/IMAGE/AUDIO/STORED
