I've been away from the ARG community for awhile, so I'm just catching up on all this now. This is sad news indeed; I echo the sentiments of many others when I say that Dave was an inspiration, and his tiresome efforts to the advance the ARG community were a positive light in my life and many others. I mean, what else but a brilliantly-crafted ARG could make somebody go running wide-eyed through an abandoned mental institution by himself?!?
My thoughts and prayers are with Dave's family.
Let's honor his memory by continuing to support and grow this wonderful genre.

Hey all,
Addlepated and I are working on a memorial project for ARGfest this year and we could use your help. We'd like to include some short videos of community members talking about Dave and his games. They don't have to be anything fancy (no special effects necessary). We'll do the editing, but we do ask that you keep the videos to two minutes or less.
The project (with your videos) will be broadcast at ARGfest and will most likely be posted here afterwards so the rest of the community can view it.
If you'd like to participate or have questions, please contact Varin or Addlepated here by private message or in chat.
The deadline is June 20th!
Thanks!

Just a quick reminder to please send in your videos.

I dont have any videos of Dave, but I think someone might have a copy of the DVD from ARGfest New York. Dave was on a panel there I think.

Oh, we were looking for people to make their own short videos of themselves talking about Dave.

I found my pictures of Dave from the original ARGFest, Las Vegas in 2003. When Chasing the Wish was still ongoing. I sent them to Addlepated last night.

June 13, 2009 June 23, 2009 Tyler and David June 13, 2009, David's son Tyler turned two years old. This past Sunday was Father's Day and a very sad one at that. I am grateful that I still have my father and brothers.
Tomorrow would have been David's 52nd birthday. It will take every ounce of energy to get out of bed and leave the house tomorrow. I am so looking forward to seeing many of you again in July at ARG Fest.
Dee, you have been a Godsend through this and Michelle, I am glad to hear you are home from the hospital. I wish you a speedy recovery. Hope you got some good pain killers!
See you soon some tears for my love.....

We're looking forward to seeing you there too! I've been thinking alot about Dave the past few days. He's sorely missed.

My best friend Dave Szulborski Tomorrow is our wedding anniversary and Friday Tyler and I are leaving for Portland to share a part of you with your online community. It's still so hard to believe on July 23 you will be gone 3 months already! It is my hope you are storytelling in your own way in the place God made for you. I love you! Tyler asks, " Where daddy go?". You are missed my dear husband!

I just finished reading 2 books by Dave Szulborski. Just from his writing alone, not to mention the stuff he's produced and contributed to this community, I am in awe of this man.
Some day, I'll find a way to thank the man whose work has changed my life.
Thanks Dave.

Varin and Addlepated, you both did such a wonderful job with your tribute to Dave. I know it was a labor of love, thank you. Belle I know your memory book will be cherished for many years to come. All three of you are very special.

At ARGfest, there was a moving tribute to Dave Szulborski. About 30 seconds into the video, I heard Tyler's voice shout "Daddy!" and I just about lost it right there.
In case anyone was wondering why on that particular day, I chose to wear sunglasses at the conference - it was because of that moment.
I knew I'd have a hard time holding it together.
What I'd like to know - is that video going to be posted anywhere?

A tribute to a loving husband and father A Portland Oregon adventure Michelle and Dee.....and whomever else contributed to the video presented at ARG Fest 2009.....thank you! It was a wonderful tribute to my dear husband David and he would have been so proud. (or since he was there shall I say he is so proud) I can't thank you enough for all of the work and love that went into it. Ineffabelle....that book! That wonderful, creative, tear jerking piece of art that I cried myself to sleep over Saturday night will forever remain on Tyler's book shelf. Thank you for helping me pass David's legacy onto Tyler.
Thanks to all of you who participated for helping me to know a part of David that was not well known. It is very special for me to see the lives he has touched throughout his career. Each one of you has made a difference in our lives! Thank you and may God keep you in His grace always.
Peace,
Marianne and Tyler
