Or if it is scrambled, or encoded, or....

We'll have to keep an eye on the background and see if it changes, see if we get more of the picture. Hidden letters usually = clue, so there must be more to it.

Of course, this is if it isn't a clever troll. Again, are we sure he is in-game?

 		Based on Abby's last message, I spent the evening trying to figure out the audio file. I went letter by letter, listening to each one carefully and repeatedly. I thought I had the sequence.
Then I translate it, and it was a bunch of jibberish.
Ugh.
So I am going to bed now. Good luck for anyone else trying to translate.

But seriously, I don't think that we can progress beyond wild-ass guesses without a better recording of the radio transmission. Maybe we should ask her to use her PC to record the incoming radio in future?

And ask TC to send that message again? Because she obviously expects us to solve based on what we have, and ... it ain't happening. For one thing, I maintain that the first character is a T. Pretty clearly so. But that ends up saying "GHE" instead of THE. So that doesn't work.

is the first letter of each word the REAL letter?

 		Abby suggests the correction which leads to CAKE, but then she doesn't think CAKE sounds right? Could be part of the role-playing and she can get things wrong as much as we (I mean, you...I don't really play this) can. But if it is a hint, then maybe it means that something else is wrong? Turning CAKE into CAME, perhaps?

Sorry in advance if this is unlikely or impossible, I don't have any idea how you got this far, because I really dislike audio comprehension puzzles...

 		If ATGNX is really ATPNF then we have "the cleansing case", which starts to sound more promising to me -- the "case" referring perhaps to Z1. What do you think?

Using the table of equivalencies I made earlier, I don't see any way to proceed after "case" except into "the", unless what I have following that is also bogus -- which I don't think it is. Hmm . . .

I'm away tonight and tomorrow -- looks like I'll miss ZT's big announcement! Enjoy it . . .

Once I realised you simply couldn't comprehend exactly what letters were what, and once I had noticed ROT-13 producing something in one of our potential transcriptions, it was actually pretty simple: I drew up the table here and used a process of elimination to start producing words! The trick is to get away from listening to the cipher and start working with the possibilities -- there weren't that many, and if you've any cipher-breaking experience (which is really just about recognising the patterns that make up words) it all starts to fall into place.

 		If we use TAKE instead of CAKE, perhaps we need to do some numerical magic with Abbys' first and last years of life (i.e., birth year and current year).

BTW - she graciously told me she was born in 1976. Wink

TIMES would fit here, make sense, and fit with last radio msg, time is short abby, time is short.....

or YEARS would also fit and link to the FIRST AND LAST YEARS OF YOUR LIFE,

I'm sure THE CLEAN is right as it fits with T.C. and in the olden times those with the plague were called UNCLEAN, leaving those not infected as THE CLEAN............any thoughts?
