playlist ideas.

So what are some playlists you have made in the past? Ones you are working on? What was the theme? The title? What songs did it include? why did you include songs? what lyrics stand out to you?

Heh, I probably have 100 playlists - most are smart playlists, but I've also got some that I dump things into as the mood strikes and then some that are more structured. Also, I have playlists for every character that I write (and some characters, like Sploit, have a handful of playlists). Here are three from Eldritch:

BA St. Feline (general, dreamscape)

This is BA's general playlist and is, I believe, identical to the one that was sent out after the first book.

Sploit (general)

Sploit has a few playlists - some a bit more hardcore, some a bit more ska, but most have a sense of humor (or, at least he probably thinks so). They're also just about as disorganized as he is, but they almost all start from here.

Marie

Marie's playlists tend to be my playlists because musically we were pretty simpatico (though sploit definitely got my love for punk & ska which marie seems to have avoided). These were some of her favorites and, in a way, tell her story from the beginning to end of book 1 - with the added bonus of the last thing she told the sentries in book 3.

Oh man I am ALL OVER those playlists, Imbri!

I'll put something up here tomorrow when I'm not crazy-tired. But in general my playlists are based on what would go well together, and then I name it by joining the names of the parts, unless I have a better idea. Some examples:

DoomThon (Doom and Marathon soundtracks)
Lord of the Narnian Rings (bet you can guess)
Bungie (Halo and Marathon soundtracks)
Ephemeral (BA Inspirations--see above post--and Lacuna Coil)

Also I do stuff like put audio stories together into easily-playable playlists (ILB, At the Mountains of Madness, Rebel Angels, the Lord of the Rings)

And then I have my MASTER PLAYLISTS aka "Best Soundtrack" "New Rock" and "Best Musical." (New Rock is basically "Best Rock" except without old stuff like Crosby Stills & Nash, Elton John, and Paul Simon--they have their own playlist)

once I tried to make the ultimate summer playlist but I just ended up with Broken Social Scene's 'You Forgot It In People' album.

But I'm really digging those playlists, imbri.

I made this one last fall. I guess you could call it a break up album. But more about the good that can come from breaking up, like finally being able to move forward with your life.

White Winter.

And, finally. I finished my End of the World playlist. I am quite pleased with it. 21st Century Pop Song was really the song that gave me the whole idea of making a soundtrack to how I imagine the end of the world to be. If you want me to upload any of these, just ask.

Oh goodness...

As a music FANATIC, i've made waaaaay to many playlists.
Loads and loads and loads and loads.

Many are based on colours, and the feelings i associate with those colours (and these are detailed colours, not just red, green, and blue. Stuff like "Incadescent bulb yellow"). Others are based around themes, like days of the week or travelling. Others (more normal) are based around genres or what have you.

As an amateur DJ, I've had the joy of working my way through these huge playlists and hacking together DJ mixes out of them, so that's great fun.

So instead of just a list of songs, here's a link to a DJ mix i made a while back. It turned out fairly well, i think (allthough the name is outdated. As in i changed what name i compose music and perform under to something different than Wasteland Triens).

Setlist:
Intro (Pop Goes The World) by Men Without Hats
Genesis by Justice
Let There Be Love (Justice vs. Kanye West) by Party Ben
You Gonna Want Me by Tiga
Street Justice by MSTRKRFT
Harder Better Faster Stronger vs. Sexual Sportswear (Sebastien Tellier) by Daft Punk
Gravity's Rainbow (Soulwax Remix) by Klaxons
Sugar by Ladytron
DVNO (Video Edit) by Justice
