KRF Group Launches New Houston, Texas Command Center: http://krfgroup.com/houston... #Z1 #ZTSC

edit
didnt realise it wouldnt let me post the link to work here so this is what it says

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

KRF Group continues to fund research directed at understanding the Z1 Virus and its origins. To support that effort the foundation's board of directors has approved two significant measures.

The Z1 virus poses a significant threat to the human population. KRF Group scientists have been at the forefront of Z1 virus research and continue to push government and public health officials to expand their efforts to unravel its secrets. The Houston Command Center was primarily created to further this communication. The foundation hopes that the unusually visible public profile of this office will facilitate its mission.

Additionally, to proceed with this effort the board had to approve several amendments to the foundation's highly restrictive charter. KRF Group continues to adapt as needed in its fight against this virus. This process will continue as needed.

The Houston Command Center will operate under the direction of Mr. John Davis. You are encouraged to contact him if you have any information regarding the Z1 virus or its origins. He can be reached at (832)-567-3599.

sotpyrk on twitter is Kryptos reversed...

"Kryptos is a sculpture by American artist James Sanborn located on the grounds of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in Langley, Virginia, USA. Since its dedication on November 3, 1990, there has been much speculation about the meaning of the encrypted messages it bears. It continues to provide a diversion for some employees of the CIA and other cryptanalysts attempting to decrypt the messages."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kryptos

A pretty straightforward hint that there's more puzzles to come.

New tweet from @Soptyrk:
Code:
eWidpiFwi gausboaobmcagtn el h seu . .ne i yhd o hn osrisT.ns eutmeilt o welc

Doesn't ROT, not binary or Hex or Base64 that I can see. Thoughts?

Well, going on the Kryptos connection, I checked out the kind of encryption used for it. The first encryption (of the monument) is called a Vigenere cipher (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vigen%C3%A8re_cipher... I don't know, it looks pretty complicated and I'm new. Is this the norm for puzzles?

In any case, I'm gonna waste my time with that square trying to use the code phrases "The Clean" and maybe "Kryptos" or "Sotpyrk".

Just guesses in the dark, here. Sad

Running the text through several ciphers and trying different keywords, nothing so far.

I may not come up with anything useful, but it's better than sitting on my hands waiting for someone else to do it, right? :3

The Kryptos connection seems to be the most logical one.
If that's it, anagramming should work, too. But lots of choices.
Maybe the blanks are at the position they should be and just the letters need switching. Starts with pretty long words, though.
And the two dots in a row complicate things...

That looks a little bit like you read one sentence from the left and the other (two) from the right.

At the end I always read "welcome". Maybe that's an intentional clue?

There are three periods and three capital letters, so there are three sentences in the message.

I vote anagram.

EDIT: I vote anagram, including the spaces.

I ran the word "WidpiFwi" through an anagram search engine, and didn't come up with any results. If the entire phrase is anagrammed, we've got quite the difficult task ahead of us.

These are good ideas, BUT I think something is off. Columnar and some of the other ciphers suggested would probably result in at least one instance of two spaces together. Just like we have two periods together. Spaces are more common than periods, right? Hmm.

*EDIT* Eureka! Ran the first "sentence" through the anagram servant and this came out:
Code:
"A Baa Obedience Flu Swigs Gout Wimp"
Shocked

....I got nothing.

Going to try to reverse engineer this one, with a three sentence grouping, same number of characters, and see if I can make it look like this. Let you know how it goes.

Well, that obviously means that it's the sheep flu... and the sheep want to take over the world, or something. Smile

No luck so far with the V-square thing, forwards or backwards, with or without ROT-13, or anagram-ed (although I haven't finished the whole thing and tried to anagram it, just the first word or two). Off to work some more... Good luck everyone![/b]
