Why would they use their MAIN SITE to do that? Terms from the Matrix, and Alice in Wonderland have been used around the ARG world for a long time now, it's probably just that.

Of course I'm in too. If it does end up being about the Matrix, you know it'll at least be interesting

This was traveling around the twittersphere yesterday, and I think it started with NIN, which led me to think that it had something to do with Year One, the proposed follow-up to yearzero. That would be much more interesting than another Matrix story.

Gave my information shortly after applying with my ARG name I got a call from 2282099560 i answered with my given name and they hung up. I am not sure I tried calling the number back but get a this number has been disconnected. Could be just a coincedence.

That's odd as all get-out. I did a reverse lookup on the number: it traces back to Biloxi, MS and is listed as being available for activation, meaning it doesn't belong to anybody.
True story: 100% of the reason I came back to UF at all is due to NIN maybe possibly insinuating that they could have some small chance of doing another ARG like yearzero.

I can't say for absolute certain, but I would bet it was a wrong number; 42 calls usually show up as "000000".
Considering that they're also extremely strict about TINAG, I doubt that signing up on their home site would lead to one specific game per se. It's probably more along the lines of building a database of people willing to play any 42 game as it comes along.

Have no doubt that they would call more people. Just seemed odd. Thought I would through it out there Just in case.

:pouncehug: Why, hello there. Hehe, I've been meaning to do that after seeing you in a couple of threads I was trying to catch up on. But was weighing the cons of hijacking a real game thread.

This cannot be stressed enough. Far too many people on twitter are convinced that the sign up is for Nine Inch Nails or The Matrix.
