Dude... it's 42 Entertainment. 1, they're respectable and established. 2, what can someone do with your date-of-birth? 3, you can leave fields blank.
1) No actual names I know are there any more, so I'm treating them as strangers
2) Well considering my bank ask for it every time I phone them...
3) That prompt is what I got when I left DOB blank

Then make up a date of birth. What are they gonna do, track you down?

I have to agree with dposse here, I highly doubt that 42E is gonna take your date of birth and call your bank to do anything illegal or unethical. (or use it for anything else besides making sure you're not a minor in case there is adult content in their games).
Paranoia much?

Interesting points brought up in chat -
How do you update your information?
How do you opt out of the database?
Say 42E gets acquired by another company - what happens to your information?

Hey, I can totally relate. With the exception of when I played the Wolfpack (damn you Wulf, I wanted that book!!), I try not to even give my real name. You never know...

Yes. Always. Freaking identity theft will do that to you.

Considering the amount of mass of a meteoroid usually burned off during entry into the atmosphere, that's a very unlikely scenario. Conversely, companies get bought out all the time.

"All the time" is a matter of opinion. Besides, so what if they are? The new company would suddenly be uncooperative and start selling your information...to who, exactly? What is this big bad boogieman that is scaring anyone about this?

Ahem, this looks like it's just an attempt from 42E to collect information for future projects. Since it's not a new ARG (yet, at least) I will probably move this thread soon to our Meta areas where it can be discussed further.
Thank you.

Yeah, for games/trailheads.
There is another area for Press releases and such. And then there is the meta areas where the merits of giving your personal info to companies can be discussed.
