Aesir Pharmaceuticals
Possible Max Payne ARG/Campaign

As reported on the Team XBox news page, Brazilian gaming blog Faca no Console received a package from Max Payne company Aesir Pharmaceuticals with a sample of AESIR.

Shortly after, the blog received the following email:

Hi Bruno,

We don't know each other, but I need you to trust me.

Don't be scared. I got your email because I had access to the database of all the people who were contacted by AESIR in the last 20 days.

And YES, I know that AESIR has been sending you some "gifts". But I strongly recommend you to ignore each and every gift this company has sent you. You should not get involved with them or their products.

I am at the final stage of my investigation and soon I will send you visual evidence hoping that you understand what the real intentions of this company are.

I'm counting on you.

Best of luck,

EMEPE09

So, have at it! Seems to be more along the ARGish end of the spectrum than creative PR mailing, but it's still too early to tell.

The original articles from facanoconsole.com.br: letter/tattoo, package, email.
The [badly] Google translated version for us lazy English speakers: letter/tattoo, package, email. Laughing

Letter/Tattoo wrote:
"They are coming."
{temporary tattoo with two upstretching wings}
"Vikings used to wear them for protection"

Package and Contents wrote:
Lupino [stamped, "Jack Lupino" is a character in Max Payne]
Valkyr
Aesir Pharmaceuticals [logo]

[two bottles of blue liquid]
Serum VALKYR # 292-50700
DEPARTMENT CODE: 11 / 12 (a number for each bottle)
NON DISCLOSURED

The number string on the bottles was discovered to be a phone number for an actual media company "iChimps". [original discovery / in English]

It should be noted that the email had bolded lettering. Which leads to the tumblr account Idunnolol posted by searching for user "EMEPE09": http://emepe09.tumblr.com

[Sorry, just wanted to clarify all that because it had been a little confusing to me. Embarassed]

I did a little digging into the photo on emepe09.tumblr.com. Since one of its tags is "metadata", looking in the image's coding you can find the url: vai.la/9YA as in "9YA is the answer". It redirects to http://www.correios.com.br a Brazilian shipping company.

So maybe we're looking for a tracking number?

Also in the EXIF data for that image:
Quote:
Keywords = aesir / dvd / emepe09 / evidences / extras / lupino / mail / valkyr

Bold items are not included in the tags on the tumblr page.

As it turns out, the Brazilian gaming blog as well as a couple others got copies of the Max Payne dvd (the crappy Mark Wahlberg movie). Apparently there is an extra scene after the credits referring to Aesir Pharmaceuticals. The DVD came with a note that said "Is this the end? Not yet..." If this is promoting the DVD, I'm not sure why it is only happening in Brazil. Another tidbit: The third Max Payne game is supposed to take place in Sao Paolo, Brazil, however Rockstar Games has stated that they have nothing to do with this viral marketing.
