Kits beach is literally just down the street from my apartment. I'll be there at 5:55, assuming I can get my GPS system working well enough.

I have never before in my life wanted to be in two places at once more than I will on Saturday (The beach/2700). I will be there, camera ready, but if I am in the wrong places, gamer tears shall be shed.

If you're gonna be at 2700 I suppose I can watch the other side of the pier or possibly stand on the pier to get a vantage point of either side of the beach.

I'll be there too so we can get 3 vantage points Smile

Plus on google maps the beach is like right next to the buildings at 2700, so i wasn't really too worried...and maybe there will be signs trying to point us where to go? i think it would be too cruel to give us just the general area and not more specific directions once we got there.

To everyone that is going to Santa Monica, I will be in a Black UC Berkeley sweater, lets all meet up perhaps, I will have a video camera as well as a regular camera. I will have three others with me, and I should arrive sometime around 5 or 5:10 to the 2700 Neilson St area.

Update

It looks like mark is getting more into "The Frozen Triangle" as it's open in front of the answering machine.

It might just be me, but it is suddenly brighter above Mark's desk? Was that bulb always there/on? I can't remember...

Edit: Nevermind- it was always on... Must just be me...

For the Santa Monica event. Does anyone know if this will be off the pier or somewhere else along the shore?

If it is on the shore?

The coordinates point to a spot just south(-eastish) of the Pier, really.

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=350+Santa+Monica+Pier+350,+Santa+Monica,+CA+90401+(Santa+Monica+Pier)&daddr=%2B34%C2%B0+0%27+0.00%22,+-118%C2%B0+28%27+60.00%22+(34.000000,+-118.483333)&geocode=FfbzBgIdMOPv-CGiqo2v6IL2FA%3BFYDMBgIdexbw-A&hl=en&mra=pe&mrcr=0&sll=34.005925,-118.490124&sspn=0.034509,0.071068&ie=UTF8&ll=34.005001,-118.488708&spn=0.017255,0.035534&t=h&z=15

(Meh, linking it wasn't working, so ...)

I noticed that too, but am also hoping either it's right where the coords say it's at, or there will be signs or something leading us in the right direction...either way I can't wait for Saturday!!

Also for all others meeting in SM, I'll be at the 2700 Nielson spot hopefully around 5-5:30 with my camera wearing a black jersey.

Okay, just for clarification, who else is going to Jones Beach on Saturday morning so I can meet up with whoever else is going.

There's about a half dozen or so mentioned on the 2K board...

ugh! I'd go in a heartbeat, but I'm visiting my brother in Orlando.

Not that my hometown's any closer... apparently, no Rapture flotsam washes up in Houston, either. :\
