ok, i'm back. had to crash for a couple of hours.

ROBBIE, sorry, man. it wasn't meant as an attack on you in any way. there was a forum over in 2K where a guy was calling anyone that was begging for a bottle "parasites". just got a little heated. i'm trying to make arrangements to acquire a bottle, myself.

one love, brudda. Rock On

also, 2K Elizabeth, you rock.

It's against the ToS for 2K Elizabeth to post here, technically but since it was a congratulatory post it can be bypassed.

I would also like to thank 2K Elizabeth and the rest of the marketing crew that made the event a wonderful experience. I had tons of fun.

No prob man, I did go a bit overboard this morning. I blame it on sleepiness and being a fanboy... Razz

As far as the ToS for uF, it just says that PM's can't post in threads concerning their game unless the game is over. I wasn't trying to be the uF police or anything, just wanted to point it out as it can potentially spoil games...

If what this says is true I'm begging someone to help me out. BEGGING. Especially if there are that many extras sitting around. Anyone kind enough to do so will be compensated...I have no shame, it's my bday, help a guy out por favor...

I was going to get yuu a bottle but seeing as there were approximately 150 people and 50 bottles I didn't want to be unfair to the people that showed up. Sorrie :[

Santa Monica Beach

Got there at 5am sharp and found a small group with flashlights working there way up north towards the pier. We got to the pier where they hung out with other people who joined us fer about 15-20min while I ran down the beach North of the pier. That turned up fruitless so we headed back to the coordinates where we saw a huge gathering. We ended up waiting there fer about 30-40min with a crowd of approx. 125 people. Then some joggers came by and told us that there were bottles up the beach next to the pier. People started sprinting and I ended up passing them and leading the front and getting there with approx. 34bottles left. The rest was just a bit sad as the determining factor was running. Alot of awesome people that i met didn't get bottles Crying or Very sad Other than that it was an okay event. I just wish I got to meet more people as most people stayed in their own groups. Not bad fer getting to the beach early in the morning :]

Wow. Just saw on Ebay that the bottles are up to like 90 dollars already. Haha. Nuts.
Some random guy told me before I left the beach that there might still be hope to get a bottle because apparently they were taking down information from people who didn't get to the spot fast enough? Not sure about this, though. Could just be wishful thinking.
Anybody know of any photo albums that anyone's posted from the Jones Beach event? I've been looking but not having any luck.

I'll post Jones Beach pictures on flickr soon.

They did take mailing addresses down for people that didn't get bottles at Jones Beach, so it's good to see that everyone gets one.

I think it's sickening that people just sell their swag >.<

That's not actually true, unless the campaign is over.

It is sort of amazing to me that amount of boilerplate people *really skim* over when signing up for things, nowadays. Not every forum is the same, y'know. Personally, I read every single one I sign up for (even though there are sections of a ToS that *are* pretty skimmable, it's true). There are forums I have walked away from as a result, or chosen to post selectively at, because of their policies and habits regarding the content I contribute, or the actions they could conceivably take with my information.

Smile

OMG really? I don't remember anyone at Santa Monica taking down info, and I stayed for a little bit since some others went to the other side of the pier to see if there were more over there, plus I had to leave shortly after to get to work...I don't want to sound like I'm begging but if there was someone taking info at Santa Monica and someone has a way to get in touch with them, could you let me know? I really really really want a bottle but I don't want to buy it off eBay.

...plus, 2K will be getting plenty of my money, especially with their line of figures coming out :3...

I hear ya, dude. I remember one guy who was really into it and was among the first dozen people at the beach hours before sunrise. He was using his GPS and all to try to find the right spot. He was a good 1/2 mile from the bottles trying to figure things out when the crowds got to 'em. By the time he got there there were none left. I'm glad that 2k isn't letting dedicated fans like that go home empty handed.

Looking forward ot seeing your album, man!

Has there been any updates to SitS since this mornign that I've missed?

I meant the players are willing to bypass it. Sorreh if I wasn't specific.

I haven't checked for updates but I'd suggest asking the 2K forums who they contacted to get a bottle if they showed up at Jones Beach.

The album is 53% complete. The internet is uploading them at 2.3 kb/s....
