 		We could post it on here or even maybe we could code the code, mix up all the numbers to mean a different one, post THAT on here, then post the coded number on ning. I know what your thinking Shocked Shocked but this is a potential CF here, and more importantly, its an ARG

 		OK What is a CF?

Also I was thinking..disinformation and Redirection is an important part of any oraganized resistance that is being watched. In addtion to L-DUBS (as I Like to call him) perhaps we should setup red herring code site.
for example I setup and account on blip.fm (DJTRUSTGU) there is a way to get your own mp3s played (I do music and have done this before) by hosting them on a website and linking in blip which then streams the content.
We could use this to setup our own internet "Numbers station" we can put out our own propaganda broadcasts and line the blip DJ on GU deputies ring.
The Fake Broadcasts could then have our "Codes" in them that "the PArty" could them break. Or we could use it for legitimate purposes using a one time pad key. (Note I am not a codes guy so I would need hel with the encrypting) however I can create the fake Music/Broadcasts and instert Backward messages and stuff.. Hmm maybe I should have chosen the Comms team? eh

CF means chaotic fiction.

I think the real codes are best left here, our private game space, and kept off any public site. Do like the idea of a disinformation campaign and reaching out to potential GU members via broadcasts, though. Anyone else have thoughts about that?

FSURobbie, since you started this thread, would you be willing to add pertinent links to your first post for reference and newcomers? That would be much appreciated.

Absolutely, just let me know what you guys need added. I haven't been too involved since it went live so I might need some help from you guys as to what to add. Planning on being more involved from here on out, but if you guys could help me come up with a good summary of the game to date I'll add it as well as any necessary links.

I agree with posting the real code only here on uF, and maybe post a note on our ning forum that the code has been changed; then everybody knows where to look. I like the idea of disinformation at some other place. One idea could be that LWaltershield tweets out the wrong code because PT party members will (hopefully) follow him too.

Okay guys, I have three so far.

GUFlyer1 is just the Grotian Underground logo with the Ning network URL on the top. I think it would be enough to peek some interest, since no details are given.

Flyer2: I have "something has taken over..." In bold letters, and then repeated the phrase all over the page. At the bottom of the page, I have the purity towers URL. I figured the creepy/mystery factor would get a lot of people to say 'WTF?" and visit the site.

Flyer3: All it has is the Twitter tag #trustGU. Almost everyone knows what Twitter is, and what a tag is, so again, lack of details might prompt some people to look it up.

I'm working on another flyer for people who aren't familiar with ARGs. I'll add more detail to that one and say something like "Is it only a game?" with some URLs pointing to here, or the network. Not sure yet, but I'll have it up soon.

Feel free to print these out (they should all be around 8X11) and distribute as needed/wanted.

Thoughts, suggestions, hateful comments are welcome! ;P

 		Got the 'Well Done' from Melvin too... I like the idea of the codes only being issued in private... here is ok... but do we know everyone here is on our side... and I don't want to get into another 'Rules' discussion thanks JJ...LOL! But if some players are converted by the party can they post and see here... I mean they aren't Pm's right?

Also we should have someone go over the network to scrub any sensitive info we posted while getting organized. And I agree that all things in the network should be coded... but I'm recon and paranoia is what we do...

EDIT: And Cat thanks for the flyers... will be putting some up in PDX shortly!

 		Ok as a newbie I gotta throw out a comment or question and if you guys could let me know the protocols ect... being a n00b it has been a bit to try and keep up at times... which I fully expected!!! But I've always had the chance to catch up here on the forums...

I just posted the above and hopped over to the netwrok and the folks in chat were discussing the same things... and it seems like some decisions were being made in chat... which I have no problem with! The only problem I have is that I can't go back and follow things from last night in chat... and then I can't catch up to the group think.

Am I just being a n00b or is there a way to keep track of those things that I'm missing... Thanks!

 		So the flyers are great, and i love the idea of LW posting the wrong codes on twitter, especially since we know the are watching us. now then, we have the offer from the Party to join up and live in their palace. Some memebers of the Sab team think that it would be in Gu's best interest to have a few members of each team infiltrate the Party and relay information back to our groups. It seems that would help with Recon's missions and Sab teams missions. It is up to the other teams if they want to do this or not. But I know that for Sab, this is a good way to throw the Party off GU.[/i]

I think that's a good point there. let's not forget to post important stuff here on uF all along.

The task that Comm. team got from Selvin was to create a code/language for exceptional situations, as it was declared in the Comm. deputies' e-mail. It would be too complicated and probably not necessary to post in code on the ning forum. What is important though is that we post secret stuff like the change of the ROT code on uF and NOT on ning. And it wouldn't hurt to check out new members with funky names, I guess Wink

I understand your concern about players who play both sides (and are actually more loyal to the party than to the Grotians). I think it would be endless to find new and more secure ways to outtrick them. I've started to play Junko Junsui at first, but they've had that problem too and it became pretty paranoid, don't you think? Maybe we can just see how it will evolve... and at the end, maybe the Grotians didn't fight off the dragons 1000 years ago, but they are sure fit for this new battle! Laughing
