Now that you mention it... in the entry where they go to the forest to look out for locations, the sound gets messed, and we thought that it was because of the Slenderman prescence. However, in Entry no. 7 we see clearly a Slenderman in the back and the sound is okey, as well as in Entry No. 11, where we do know that there's a Slenderman (whether on the out or inside the house) and yet, the sound doesn't seem corrupted.

IMHO, there are two possibilities:
1- SM has the ability to corrupt sound at will.
2- The woods are the one that "corrupt" the sound

 		I personally think that the ones that are logical are

1 - Slenderman can mess with technology at will.
4 - Somone else removed the sound.

The only reason
3 - Alex removed the sound
would have an argument is if Alex was hiding something.

Unless he was.
Which would be an interesting twist in this story.

I was just thinking that today... I mean who else has access to the audio? Alex is watching J from the shadows? I have a new theory about sound distortions and SM. Maybe SM can only distort audio he is directly looking at. In 7 SM is looking to the side (based on his body angle) and in 11 maybe SM is looking away, not at Alex... SM doesn't like to be seen so maybe he kills equipment when HE knows he's being watched?

Edit: Also in 11 if SM killed the audio that would have been a dead giveaway to Alex. SM maybe mysterious but I don't think he's stupid, he knows his power and the limitations.

Edit2: Never mind that more proves SM can do it at will...

I think so too, because:

1. We do know there's an OPERATOR (meaning, there's somebody who's moving everyone's actions)
2. This OPERATOR is probably Slenderman
3. There is somebody with access to the sound of the videos
4. Said videos have only been (speculating) in two hands: J and Alex
5. There is somebody who is uploading the sound of said videos
6. The latest video (Deluge) seems to point out something, so far, I believe it says "A-lex".

My guess is that Alex became, after so much stress, a pawn to SM and so, edited the videos, detached the audio, opened an YouTube account as "totheark" and now is uploading everything from the darkness.

I do not know why though, and with this, my whole theory may be dissed.

 		Here's my two cents

1. totheark claims not to be alex (or is alex but hasn't taken the audio out of the tapes)
2. totheark might be an anagram (th oak tre ?) (alex kralie= a axe killer) Smile
3. Alex is/was chased by SM but not to kill him, for some reason. Maybe Alex is becoming SM? J did mention that when he last saw Alex, Alex had become a lot slender. Might be a long shot.
4. J is going to be chased by SM

Maybe SM finally stopped following him after he moved, but he's so obsessed with him he can't just stop, yet is afraid SM will find him again? That would explain why the videos and responses are so cryptic, so noone can find out it's Alex.

EDIT: i mean, all we've seen is the name of TTA's video and one of alex's doodles, no proof of a big scheme

First of all, Marble Hornets doesn't seem to follow SM's mythos at all... According to the Something Awful mythos, SM chased only kids and was after kids... and Alex is in no way a kid. Also, SM killed it's victims and Alex at least was alive up to two years ago... either Alex is an epic failure to SM or they're not following the mythos at all.

So, imho I think Marble Hornets is only taking SM's appeareance and some other stuff, but deviating from the original mythos. Kinda like an adaptation movie from J-horror to Hollywood Horror.

Second, I think there's a HUGE correlation finding a doodle saying "OPERATOR" and a video of totheark being named like that. How does this play in the whole game I still don't know, yet I do believe there's a point in here. And one that is HUGE.

 		I don't think I can play this game anymore, I just had a nightmare about SM. I was walking out of my room and he just popped in front of me, reached out and grabbed me.. then i woke up.. WOW how sad Am I.

On another note, I think I mentioned before he only chased kids. That was according to the mytho, yes.

Or they're expanding on the Slender Man mythos. No one said that he always has to go after children... in fact the original creator specifically mentioned that at one point two men were hiking in the forest and the Slender Man grabbed one of them. That was one of his paranormal photos.

As for the Alex-not-being-dead-yet... I'm going to wait to pass judgment until we know more. And the OPERATOR is most definitely relevant--Chaos was just pointing out that we can't extrapolate all the way to the conclusion that there is an operator controlling everything. It's a possibility, maybe even a probability, but not something we know yet.
