Ok, Mark couldn't have made it any more clear that there is something else in the box we are missing. We've got to crack it guys!

Ahaha I was just thinking the same thing... but what else could be there? hmm.. I'm going to try to redo the "redqueen" thing and see if there's something else after the recording...

Now I just need to remember the glyph translations :\

EDIT: reworked the redqueen puzzle but can't figure out anything else to do with the speaker... but I'm A) not very inventive and B) looking at it on my netbook. maybe a fullscreen view would be better? i don't know.

Also, there's what appears to be an empty, coffee-stained folder on the floor of Mark's office below left of the filing cabinet. It's labeled "FOUND scattered on floor at SCARLET SOVEREIGN WAREHOUSE," with a note to sort and file it. Is this folder empty to anyone else, or is my netbook just being dumb? Or did I just miss someone talking about it earlier?

I know that we already went over this but how do you open the box? I was gone when it was figured out but i never actually tried and to be honest i forgot what was even in it. can someone give me a recap please.

Page 37 has all that info. Smile

I was thinking, in regards to Mark's note on the table above the box, has anyone tried connecting a microphone to their computer and talking into it once the recording finishes? Mark seems to think it might be a mic, and I would try it now but my work comp gets kind of fussy when I connect things it doesn't like Rolling Eyes

Might be worth a try...

I think I'll try that. I don't have an external mike, but my netbook has one built in... I'll probably just start off saying random Rapture-related words. I'll let you guys know if I have any success.

EDIT: Admittedly, I'm not quite sure I know what I'm doing here, so... If anyone else has success with a legit mic and a superspecial keyword or something... please let everyone else know Very Happy

Flash isn't quite that advanced and I don't see the programmers spending the kind of time it would take to program Flash to recognize and respond to sound in audio files.

Heck, at that point they have a product they can take to market.

I think it has something to do with us missing something already in the room because I promise you that you can speak to Flash all day long and it's not going to respond.

Dangit! At least I only spent a little while yelling clearly enunciating RAPTURE and REDQUEEN at my computer...

EDIT: maybe there's something else in OOL's messages? something that we haven't gotten to yet?

the last line of the note on the right table is "Can't help but feel the Key is sitting here- under my nose"
i think that since the word key is highlighted that there is a key somewhere, and under my nose it must be something obvious something you wouldnt consider to be a key.
just a thought

What if you tried solving the box puzzle while the Rise Rapture Rise record is playing in the background? I tried to do it but I'm not fast enough.

I did that(with the big cube box, not the jewlery one), and nothing happened. Feel free to try though, maybe I didn't do it fast enough.

Well im thinking i need a membership here, relating back to the 7 fold key deal. I was interested in solving the box thing, (has 8 keys) and im not sure what happened but one of the keys just got eaten by the box, the "R" in the middle lit up blue, but no audio played. So mark is dead on, this box is hiding something! (ive taken screen shots showing the missing button is or was) the one that got ate is the 4 red bars.

Yeah that's supposed to happen you're really late to the box we already solved it on page 37 but
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
after the box "eats" all the pieces a recorded message plays by lutwidge.

Ok, after my impressive failure a post back im going to put my thoughts forward here. I did finally solve the box, but knowing my way around audio equipment that IS definitely a microphone there. Now what peaked my interest is that you even can have the rapture LP playing in the backround, now the people of rapture have genetic engineering down, so why not voice recognition (yes i saw the post about yelling into microphones on the computer) But previous to the jewlery box, mark had several R&R tapes out on the desk above the box, what if the box is looking for a voice on one of those tapes, (they have been put away apparently and i cant test this theory)

I think I know how the prototype big daddy is.

Not exactly the name but... I think the rouge big daddy is the one that kill suchog. Think about it for a sec... the first big daddy had a mind of his own. He didn't feel like following around an eight year old brat. But when he saw suchog hit the girl he went balistic and drill pwnt him. THIS EXPLAINS how the first big daddy made it the 10 years! He was put in storage as a defect and it wasnt till later when tennaubaum awoke him! soz for the misspells

Keys=Notes?

does anyone think that a note sequence might be the "Key" (or maybe "Keys") that is sitting under Mark's nose; the ones in the jewelry box?

Another Thought...

could the box be voice activated? if such is the case, then maybe one of the many phone messages Mark has been cataloging could be the "Key"...?
