Hmmm... what if when we finish a set of axons the .wav file turns into a video for that audio segment... Just a guess...

The time for the final "escape" axon is 15:19 Pacific Daylight.
Even so, I don't know if anyone is going to it.
marq said he would try but probably wouldn't have the chance until
this weekend.

I really don't know if finishing a set axons (or all the axons) will do anything
but I do think that with a few of them so close to being completed, it's
worth a try.

Good luck.

That whole /777 counter on ILB freaks me out. Anytime I play a game
that keeps track of my % complete it drives me to excess. Castlevania
anyone?

I posted this yesterday, listing which groups we were close to completeing I guess I'll post it again, updated.

Axon cancelled?

The first axon in hi_aiden is cancelled. Check it out. Have the PMs started to find sites that won't work?

SYfer posted about this point in the "WHY Axons didn't go hot"

Quote:
In San Francisco, we have activated 5 out of the 6 axons, but that last one, the 17:11 from hi_aiden is seemingly "impossible."

In the attached map, you'll see a green X that represents where Ranger D, myself and another person waited yesterday. Since Ranger and I had covered the spots labeled 4 and 5 on the map on Monday and there were no rings, we (perhaps foolishly) pinned our hopes on the green X yesterday. That phone did accept incoming calls, but no ring.

Note that we have not yet covered phones labeled 1, 2 and 3 (and they're getting pretty far away) yet.

Note also the following:

These buildings are big blank monoliths without storefronts or small businesses in them. The big one (where the coordinate circle is) is a Bank of America office building with NO apparent public inside access or public areas--there is a retail bank branch out on the Market street (north) side, but there's a security guard there, it does not appear to extend internally to the coord and, in spite of the fact that some coords have been "indoors," I am doubtful that they would send us into an ultra-high-security, hard-core office building. I don't tend to rile armed guards at bank headquarter buildings.

There are NO other phone opportunities, no evidence of missing phones, etc. There no rooftop options apparent, i.e., rooftop cafe.

THEORY

I find it perhaps more than a mere coincidence that NONE of the groups have hit all seven axons yet and I wonder if there's a reason for this. We can all agree that having actors or some other non-phone thing happen at 220 locations was unlikely, but maybe ONE in each IS feasible.

The coords in the map are essentially right at the entrance to the BofA's underground parking garage (nope--no phone in it either--we have physically checked and asked). Since we find nothing there and then proceed to the significantly off-coord phones, we have not stationed anyone at that exact location... yet.

Perhaps, if we can raise enough person-power today (I can go, addict may be avail and I think Ranger is going too), we should cover all the spots on the map AND just observe the actual (seemingly dry) coord. I'd look for cars, people, signs, anything.

Can we get some bodies down there and try to clean up San Fran today? The hi_aiden group is tantilizingly close and this would be a real breakthrough in the game. Also, this IS (if you'll pardon my SF-centric snobbery) a key city for the game and I can see them doing something more involved here.

Is completion of an entire set even still meaningful? I think yes because the game appears (at leaqst as of this writing) to be "stalled."

Kudos to Addict for prepping the attached map. I am working on deadline today but will keep an eye on AIM (see link below) and pardon me if my replies are curt as I am am a video editor working on a 3pm deadline--gotta pay the bills, ya know).

What does the hive think?

Would make sense if they really intend for us to hit up every single axon. Since reports are coming in that certain axons/payphones are damaged or missing or won't ring, it's virtually impossible that anyone could activate there. If the PMs discover this through their own research or our reports, it'd only make sense to disqualify them. How else would we get 'em all lit up? Wink

how would the PM's check to see that a location didn't work? unless they physically send someone there to check it out, say by placing a call not at the given time? Maybe there are ACTUAL people representing the PMs out there checking the phones.

(edit) I mean IF the PMs are planning on using the hpone thing again, wouldn't they need reliable updates to make sure nothing happens to these phones between when the game started and when they need to use them again?

Also, they might have a rule set for themselves:

"If we ring this phone three days in a row, and no one picks up, that 'crew member' is not at that location."

Emdiva will be making an attempt on this axon on Saturday. I will call the location again tomorrow and hope to get someone to answer so I can explain what to do. The ringer is so quiet and incoming calls only get about 4 rings before they are disconnected.

That sounds like the most likely thing to me.
