I think whatever we take as title, I would include the name Grotian to situate the blog right away. If we had Tales from the Tunnels, I would add a subhead. ---or have the blog description taking care of that if you think it might be too long.

I like that!

edit: I really like the alliterations here. I think it sounds decisive and powerful! Smile

My vote is for tales from the tunnels: the grotian grapevine, because then it seems like it will be many tales told by many people over the years, like old wives tales passed along throgh the generations

Great name! I'm liking where this is going. I'll submit something once it goes up. I imagine my piece will be kind of the other side of the child's viewpoint, i.e: a parent watching their child grow up under an oppressive rule.

Looks like we have a consensus for Tales From The Tunnels: The Grotian Grapevine so let's get that in the works if SpiltFish will kindly set it up. Many thanks to you for agreeing to do it Spiltfish, and thanks to everyone for the super suggestions. Nice teamwork Grotians!

ETA: Since we should have this ready to roll tomorrow, anyone who wants to do something can start preparing stories now.

http://grotiangrapevine.blogspot.com/ The GG is up now with a first post. Would love to have everyone's participation. Let your creativity shine in your stories and news items either in comments or with a subject of your own. Thanks again to SpiltFish for getting the blog set up.

PinkCloud has generously offered to help with management of the blog. Thank you PC! If anyone else would like to assist, please let us know.

I don't know that I necessarily have anything to say, but how does one go about gaining write access to a group blog?

Hi Asphodel and welcome! Either you can comment on what's already been posted or write a post of your own (the latter is preferable). Email it to grotiangrapevineSPLATgmail.com, and one of the Comm Team will post it ASAP.

What we're looking for is your own story of what it's been like to live underground as a Grotian. How does it compare to the lives you see the Proscript Party members living above ground? What are your hopes and dreams? What do you think you could contribute to the world if you were not constrained by the Party's rules. Do you long to visit other places you've read about? Do you have access to much media in the tunnels? That sort of thing. Hope you'll have fun writing something. If you have any other questions, please ask.

We'll also use this spot for news updates as they come in.

Communications Team Group Chat

PinkCloud suggested that the Comm Team have a group chat in IRC to discuss ways to expand our mission. Would you all please post what times would work best for you to chat? We'd like to schedule it for later today or Monday if possible.

BIG THANKS to those who've sent their stories in already. I hope everyone will submit something to: grotiangrapevineSPLATgmail.com It doesn't have to be long; you're one voice telling about your experience living underground.

I sent an email off to the blog email so it should be blogged up soon enough, and I made this youtube video of an interview with a downtrodden grotian:

I'm starting to be uncomfortable about how much canon we're inventing. It is one thing to take liberties with two or three points of dialect. But to decide that the Proscripts' religion resembles Abrahamic monotheism, or that there was a vast book-burning in the Tunnels, strikes me as uncomfortably likely to conflict with canon the PMs would want to release in the future.

Is this kind of deep roleplaying common in modern ARGs? Is there any precedent or custom that would tell us what is appropriate here? There is little to no reference to it in the resources I've looked at for new ARGers.

I don't want this blog to turn into gamejacking.
