Re: Need to wait for next update...?

Nice observation on the guitar "tabs"!!

When I first started "playing" this ARG that box was one of the first things that I messed around with. I worked on colors (in order of the rain bow, etc), the number of slashes on the symbols, etc. and did not get in using any other method than the "red queen" pattern. In an effort for full disclosure, I just got lucky and figured it out by trial and error going one piece at a time, as I hadn't figured out the translation of the symbols until I joined here.

So, (and maybe you'll know this one Robbie as you and Flash "talk" so much Cool ) I think we may need to wait for an update to the flash game before additional combos work (if that is how the box will open, just another sequence). Or, it could be something completely different. That's why I love this.

And it gets updated today, right? Gah, I'm so anxious.
Haha, what's weird is that none of us expected it to be, like, two different words. that would have driven me into madness. I would have been that guy on the street that you see every morning saying "please open the box, please open the box" until someone gives me a quarter.
WOAH, thought just occured. I just now realized the symbols were color coded. Totally forgot about that. So, like, if we have to spell out a word or something, it could totally be color coded. Only problem is that there are two of every color except blue I think. Oh well. I will solve this thing if it comes down to trying 1456 different codes.

Ha! I definitely think something is missing. Unless there is a hidden code we have missed somewhere along the way I think there will have to be an update to the site before it moves forwards.

Okay. Lutwidge says on the jewelry box recording, "You have unlocked the treasures of the Empress, but in the unbinding of the lock, you've also found the key." Mark's latest letter says, "Can't help but feel the KEY is sitting here--under my nose." So I definitely think that the jewelry box is the key to opening the metal box further. Lutwidge even goes on, "The sea has it's own strange song. If you find yourself stranded upon the shore with the evidence you long have sought yet unable to advance, then listen well and take notes." It's too much of a coincidence that the coordinates play musical notes, and Lutwidge says "take notes."

My thinking is that if we figure out what song to play on the jewelry box, the microphone in the metal box will "hear" it and open up further. What song that is, though, I don't know. And I think you guys are probably right; until there's another update, we won't find out. I can't remember; did the players solve the earlier puzzles before Mark did on the website (or before there was any indication that he did)? If not, then I think we have to wait for Mark to figure it out.

Also--"one other lonely noon"? Did anyone else find that phrase odd when he said it?

I don't know if this post helps at all, but I was getting really frustrated with the jewelry box.

The key is definitely a song. And it may link to the other boxes. But, I'm not so sure. The sight does remember people who have logged on before, but I don't think it remembers what you've done on the site, so you could open up one box and then try to open the other box and it wouldn't register. My idea is that there will be yet another recording or perhaps a key or someting on the inside of the keys.

Another thought just occured to me. It says "take notes", as in, maybe we have to litterally take the notes off of the keys. or something. Idk, just babbling. But, if we do have to wait for Mark once more, it almost proves a theory I've had about the game. I don't think we play as Mark, I think we play as someone snooping through his stuff every week to learn the story, perhaps that detective guy, or even the big daddy you play as in bioshock 2. Maybe we'll get a clue saying "I can't help but feel someone has been in my room." or something. that would be great. Very Happy

Yep, we are definitely spectators as opposed to participants. We get to interact with the stuff Mark finds, but we can't act outside of Mark.

So, everyone was talking about the menu screen from bioshock 1 a while back, and I searched everywhere for the random piano noises, and all I could find was little bit of it. Remarkably, though, someone managed to make a sontana out of it. Maybe that's what we have to do. Idk, just a thought. Regardless, it's pretty boss. here's the link.

OMG you were right! See the latest update for details.

I totally win! Very Happy Aren't you guys lucky I randomly posted that bal menutia?

Edit: if you type in random sequences on the new puzzle, he leaves you different hints. Okay guys, first of all, we may need translations. Second, I'm horrible at hints. My randomness has gotten us as far as it can I guess.

Lots of Messages

there must be a certain pattern, but at the end of each round there is a different message from Lutwidge...

so far there is one about a "glassy pane" and seeing Lutwidge's "mind" (???)...

the other speaks of "having four eyes", two each "forward and aft"...

This would be so much easier if the site remembered that you had solved the light puzzle >_>

Also...

the puzzle setup changes after every two rounds, i believe...

there is now an entirely different set of symbols in a new configuration...

the right pattern must be the only constant, as the selection of two symbols produces only one...

but not every symbol is used each puzzle round...

His hints sound like he's talking about some sort of ocean creature. Like a jelly fish. "I hide myself by showing what's inside". and "I live on Rapture's brink". Idk... any ideas?

Also, I looked up greek mythology sea creatures with 4 eyes that are invisible. check those letters again and again, and I'll try and see if I can find one that matches the letters. (Andromed, Gorgons, and sea nymphs are close, and I also got a reference to Atlas)
