Sort of a "Props to all the people who solved the I Love Bees mystery," eh?

That would be pretty cool, and a pretty over the top reward for all this hard work.

And BTW, I give props to everyone who worked so hard on this for over a month now. It takes patience, and you guys have that in abundance.

ah... now I understand. all you halo fanboys are looking for some poster of master chief as a reward Rolling Eyes. courtesy of dictionary.com:

game n. - An activity providing entertainment or amusement; a pastime: party games; word games.

looks like a game should provide amusement... without a tangible reward. if they give us something, cool. if not, have fun while this ARG lasts.

slow

yes it's been slow going...but I think it's because the PMs have learned since the beast (assuming it's them...which it probably is) I think they just didn't want a repeat of the Beast where all their puzzles they had plotted to take from a week to 3 months were solved in one day. I think they want, at least initially, to have some control on the pacing. There's a ways to go before Halo 2 gets released...and if they're planning for this to continue up to that point, or even somewhat beyond (because the Beast went a couple weeks past AI being released) then they've got a number of weeks to fill. I'm a little surprised that it's been so self contained on two websites and would've thought we'd have new sites to go to from the 24th (and maybe we still will if there's some solve to the wavs) but I think this is really just the kickoff...the month before the 24th was basically the prologue. Guess we'll see.

hey

dont forget the experiences with your "teamates" in this game. you solved puzzles together, helped each other out in need, and never once was someone afraid to post an idea for it being turned down. i think that the co-ordinates were a great idea, being that it brought us together that much more, on a personal note. Comradery is the word that sums up this arg. i look at the pictures of twenty people surrounding a payphone, thinking up solutions as one nervous soul is on the line, trying desprately to uncover the correct words to make the axon hot. we worked together to get the wav files and i think that the experience has made us grow a little more along the lines of helping your fellow man when they are in need. thats my reward.

OK, so this is my first ARG, and I'm a relative newcomer, but I'm impressed with the experience. It was pretty cool seeing everyone coordinate for the August 24 Experience (tm), cheering sites on (especially those cats with multiple axons in their city) with their successes, failures, and rescues (like in our very own Santa Cruz).

I'm also impressed with the colossal degree of detail that some very bright folks can get into, hyperanalyzing every angle they can think of. Sure, most of it will turn out to not be useful, but clearly they're having fun with it, so more power to them. (And maybe they WILL uncover a great clue! Keep it up!)

This is ultimately about escapism and maybe getting a chance to have fun with whatever you contribute.

I like how I can be involved with whatever little bit of the spectrum of puzzles I'd like, with whatever time I'd like to spend. I don't have a lot of time to devote to ILB, but what I've spent with it (and ya'll) has been pretty cool. That's a pretty good reward in my book.

My buddy and I (who I dragged into the fray for the 24th) were joking that, clearly, anyone who fired off an axon would be treated to oral satisfaction from Charlize Theron (or a suitable substitute of the winner's choice) and fifty copies of Halo 2 on the spot. Unfortunately, this hypothesis was a little off-base. But hey, if you wanted to get into it, you could (I got a grin out of scouting the spot with my GPS device a few days before). And, if not, some other folks would make sure you got some cool WAVs out of it, gratis.

Not a bad deal for the cheapskates. Wink Asking for more is missing the point IMHO.

And who knows, "we've only just begun." Personally, I'd love to see a few bees zipping through the ending cutscene / credits on Legendary difficulty (sorry, just had to float that little idea out there) as a little inside joke. But if not, no worries, this is a pretty damn cool experience already. Maybe I'll see you guys on some other ARGs, too!

hehe

i hate hearing people complain about the difficulty in comparison to the lack of reward. it could be worse. imagine if this ARG wasnt as big as it is. say 100 people. solving those puzzles and getting those axons would be a whole lot harder. but i guess the harder a puzzle is, the more gratifying when you finally go "OOOOHHHHH I GET IT NOW!!!!" Wink

And when all is said and done, we will all look back fondly with tales to tell to the future ARGers about the adventures of the Beekeepers.

Which is a DAMN FINE feeling Smile

I think the menaing of "Reward" differs from person to person. I'm not expecting anything tangible nor do I care if I get anything. My post just said it would suck to see one individual deemed as a "sole" winner when it would seem impossible at least to me for one person to have done everything to solve this. This is my first ARG but it didnt take long to see that this is one hell of a team effort.

Did you just completely ignore my post? It might shed some light on your misconceptions.
