Looks like there's more than one Eve, too: http://twitter.com/evephilomels

At least I think it's IG, Both Eve's have been talking (well, fighting) back and forth.

Some interesting tweets from evetphilomels, about WWII

Quote:
What happened to the internet? Everything is different. Everything looks almost the same...but different in small ways...like WW2...

Quote:
OK so since when did Germany surrender and since when did the USA get involved in WW2!!? Is this some sort of joke? Has someone hacked me?

So I'm guessing this Eve is alternate universe Eve.

Yeah, and that would be the explanation as to how inter-dimensional communication via email is possible...it's not.

Binsakne said that the third dimension folded into the fourth. We have several "parallel universes" taking place at the same time. Apparently we can have two versions of a person, but not two versions of a Twitter account. Laughing
Further, the one from the other...I can't say dimension, can I? But I'm going to say it from now on. Anyway, the one from the other dimension "is given" the Twitter account from our dimension's Eve. Maybe the internet IS inter-dimensional? Confused

"Our" Eve is asking herself, what happened to her town. Since Evandale North does not exist, something changed in Evandale? I think the other dimension is either becoming part of ours or the line between the dimensions is blurring. That may sound familiar to you (shhh, no spoilers!). Razz
If this keeps going, we might be able to help with the break-out.

If there are two locations that need a fingerprint, retina scan or DNA check, we might want to bring "our" Eve on our side. Wink

I have received an interesting picture from Rhea.
Quote:
Naturally I am inclined to respect the wishes of the family while the situation is not urgent.
However, let me assure you that there are no known long-term adverse effects from ECT and the only risk during the procedure is due to the minor anaesthetic. Indeed, the risks of medication are higher than the risks of ECT, but I would be happy to discuss this with you in person.

I wonder if you could assist me with something. Every time that Miss Smith is given time to herself, she chooses to go to the drawing room and draws the same picture over and over again. She then shows it to Mr Smith, who invariably says: "Almost there my dear". It seems peculiar to us that today he instead answered, "that is perfect". Perhaps you could tell us if the picture means anything to the family or if anyone can read the strange script on the bottom?

Unfortunately the script appears to be the hellish red script, which I can't read.
It's certainly not a regular clock and looks to be part of a compass as well? But I can't make heads or tails of it.

And here is the newest from Eve, who is apparently going 007 on us:
Quote:
Your friend carpathian roses suggested that I could disable the doors' locks from the security server...perhaps I could even hack in to the CCTV so no one would see me or them. Now I'd just have to find a way to get past the nurses...is there anything in the hospital that I could use to make something to knock them out for a few minutes without harming them?

Some observations about the picture:

Basically a clock face, but with a few alterations.
The 3 replaced by 54. The 6 replaced by 24(dot)30. The 12 replaced by 13.
There is an N at the top, as if it's also a compass.
A standard clock would show 3:00:30. This one shows 54:13:24(dot)30.

Two lines in X-like curved shape through part of the picture. And for some reason in red towards the center.

I can't quite make out the top right drawing...
From left to right, connected by lines:
The left thing looks like an angle with 4^(?) next to it.
Next is 32h, 46min, 22m(or sec?), 38m(?). The last one looks a bit like 3-digit, but I think that might be the backside of the paper shining through or some smear.

Yeah, and then there's the red script...time to figure that out, huh? Twisted Evil
I assume the script is a clue to the picture, not the other way around. Smile

Possible connection between the picture and the drawing:
I notice that 32+22=54 and 46-22=24, which both show up on the clock face. Might be nothing, I don't know.

54 = 18*3.
24 = 8*3.
Those are at least multiples of what should be on the face.
But 13 isn't. Perhaps you have to calculate time on a dial that goes to 13.

Perhaps this is a calculation for the actual dimension time. The folding causes dilation or something.

To me, the last one on the top right looks like 383 m, but I'm not too sure.

Any ideas on what the "squiggly x" (don't really know how else to describe it Laughing ) could mean? One of the lines leads to the 24 (dot) 30.

Could the "x" be an interpretation of these "dimensions" folding or "meeting"?

I was wondering about that mark too, RAD. Unfortunately, I just can't figure out how that could have any meaning right now. Perhaps after we figure out what the rest of it means, it will make more sense.

I'm wondering about the clock/compass now. Most of the numbers on the face are proper to a clock, but the four cardinal directions, except for west, are wrong. I'm not really sure what this means yet. I also tried looking at the positions as you might a compass (i.e: 0/360 at top, 90 at E, 180 at S, and 270 at W), but things didn't get much clearer. The only thing that bugs me is the marking at the top left: they almost seem like directions on interpreting the clock/compass.

O.P. sent me a reply asking if there was anything he could do to help, and I remembered that he said something about having experience with encryption, so I sent him the picture back and asked if he could figure out what any of that meant. Hoping that he can clear it up a little bit.

[warning]Major rant ahead that is probably confusing and not helpful. Skip to the bottom for my final guess[/warning]

Just been messing around with the message and noticed the first and last character of the first word is the same.
Going off on a limb and guessing it's written in the Language, I looked for words that began and ended in the same. I got xeltux, dwond, and dwsd.
If each character is representative of a single letter, then dwond makes the most sense.
For those who don't know the Language or need a refresher course, there is a dictionary here.

The next one I went out on a limb and guessed fai (is).

Using the N character from dwond, I figured out the fourth word may be tnem (time), and so I guessed the third word to be TEDO.

If my previous assumption was correct, then the next one is fai (is) again.

However, the last word I'm unsure. Given that I am correct on everything else (probably unlikely), it would leave us with TN(xx). The only thing left from that would be TNEL (stone).

So Dwond fai TEDO (Where is TEDO). Tnem fai tnel (time is stone).
The first one works. The second one... not so much.
So then I figured perhaps the ノ-like character (sorry for those who can't see Japanese; it's the slanted character beginning the fourth word) could be te. If it is, then we have tenem fai ten(xx), and I can't find a word to fit the last one.

If the slanted character can be te OR t, then we could have tenem fai tnel (have is stone) OR tenem fai tnem (have is time).

Still doesn't quite make sense.
So I considered that perhaps my assumption of fai was incorrect.
Perhaps it is fe (the)?

That would give us: dwond fe TEDO. Tenem fe tnel / Tenem fe tnem.
Meaning: Where is TEDO? Have the stone / Have the time.

"Have the time" still doesn't really work. "Have no time" does, but that would make my fe into ne and make it into "dwond ne tedo" (where no TEDO) which doesn't make sense.

All in all, Dunno

Well, right now the "Where is TEDO? Have the stone." translation seems to make the most sense. I'm hoping that O.P. comes through and is able to shed some light on the situation, but I'm thinking that that probably won't happen. Unfortunately that still doesn't help with the clock/compass and scribbles at the top right.

It's lunch time for me. Maybe some food will stimulate my brain... haha.

Blue already got it. While trying several things, we got back to what she had and compared it to the first encounter with the red script. That's when we noticed, we should have solved the old one a long time ago...

To back this up:

I did a letter substitution of the new and old red script.
For reference, here is the old red script.
Code:

new - ABCDA EF GFAH GDFI EF GDJK
old - GFD** LHMNOGP NMHEFQRK

Wasn't sure about the *, if they are one or two characters, maybe not even letters.

Now, if you treat the characters that come both with and without a dot or a dash like the same character, it changes to:
Code:

new - ABCDA EF GFAC GDFI EF GDJK
old - GFD** LCMNOGO NMCEFQRK

Like with the black script, the dots represent the phonetic difference.

Substitute what Blue got for the new script. This was "Dwond fe TEDO tnem fe tnel". Now look at the old script:
Code:

TEN** -O+#-T- #+OFE--L

- is an unknown; + and # are characters we know are the same, but no identification, yet

When I looked at the last two words, I had to laugh...it's "korpata profesul"! (Ok, actually this was before I confirmed the translation for the new script, and I had only the O, E and T...but that's enough to see it. Wink )
Damn...it was there all along.
Both writings solved.

To sum it up, the only difference between the scripts is that the red script is in the Language, with the "real" characters. The black script was manufactured to resemble English and it indeed looks a lot like it, especially "password" is a dead give-away.

And none of this helps us with the picture or the drawing, whatsoever. Razz

Exclamation
I had to edit this a couple time, because I actually made several mistakes with transcribing because of the dots and dashes and those characters ultimately being the same with different phonetics...
There could still be something wrong, just saying.
Neutral

Through all my ramblings...remember, Blue did all the work here and set us free from the clutches of the red script...way to go, Blue! Wink
I just confirmed through my attempts.

Actually, I got that particular word the very first time I saw it, just jumped right into my eye. Razz
Probably because you are looking for passwords in all these games all the time.

Oh, I almost forgot...

The TEN** from the old red script was unsolved. I looked at the letters we have not used yet and the I was missing. That' when I remembered, the password we were looking for back then was "tenchi". That's what is written there. CH is one character. It's how we were supposed to find the password. But Tylean said "Stay away, this is too hard!" and then he gave us the solution through Google. Laughing

OP has been threatened again.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4HAEF3Tkd-o

Now to decode the morse code, which we never did decode for the first one either.

edit the morse code for this video says "Out in a hearse."

I'll start working on the first video now.

GOT IT!

First video: You have the Donartnel
(For people just joining us, the Donar'tnel was TEDO's attempt at making a Pertnel. The Donar'tnel helps to keep a person immortal, but corrupts their soul at the same time.)

Second video: Out in a hearse

Email from Rhea (I'm not sure how relevant this is. I'm new to the ARG world anyway hahaa)

Quote:
Rhea: Dear Miss Roses,

We now have the MRI results. There are some unusual structures, particularly in the frontal lobe. A scan of Miss Smith revealed the same structures. It is likely to be genetic. At this stage, we are unsure of its significance. I would like to reassure you that we do not believe it is cancer, however, we have referred them both to our Neurosurgeons to see if there is any need for further procedures. In cases like this, exploration of the brain by surgery is often best.

We will keep you up to date.

Regards,

Professor Soutaine

AAAAH! *panicpanicpanic*
"Do not let her kill them"
I immediately forwarded the email to O. P. Smith and to Eve.

Quote:
Eve: OK, we've got to put the tempo up a bit. Please tell the rest of your family what you have told me. My new friend and I will come up with a plan for the next day or so.

Thanks for the warning

No response from O. P. yet.
