The rejection thing is al part of the plot. In the movie the main character is officially rejected but quickly finds himself immersed in the game....I would say it is safe to say.....Game On!!!

Oh and the 42 entertainment connection is non-existent, the list that you signed up for through them is most likely for a Matrix themed ARG....

hrmmm...I'm in. Sent an e-mail referencing Elan's "If you're bored, you're doing it wrong," quote. We'll see what I get.

So, I got my rejection letter like everyone else, but mine has something different. Emphasis is mine.

Thank you for thinking of CRS and you should consider buying a bucket.

Also: To JBlaze: I'm pretty sure the 42 Entertainment site is pretty much setting up a database of ARG player information. I'm fairly certain it's not a Matrix game, but I could be wrong.

Just as a point of reference... in the movie CRS was located at 1019 Montgomery St. However, it was located as high as the 14th floor and none of the buildings in that area have 14 floors. I think the idea was more to point to the same street in the movie.

(also, the site is on a shared server and the domain was ordered through dreamhost - this is not 42e's m.o.)

I think the reason you got that line was because you included reference in your e-mail to them to "If you're bored, you're doing it wrong." I Googled Elan Lee because I didn't know who he was (I have only been involved in 2 ARGs so far), and one of the things I found was this YouTube video, which explains the bucket reference.

I sent in an e-mail expressing interest in playing, and I got my rejection letter, heh Smile. Now to watch The Game and find out what y'all are talking about...hope it doesn't freak me out too much, heh Wink.

Ahhhh,

I do not think that the database 42 is building has anything to do with this, but they do seem to be involved.

I think Matrix about the 42 database because of the pill reference and the email I received after signing up that asked "Are you ready to be unplugged?"........Sounds like Matrix to me.....

The Bucket Video really does give some good insight and after seeing that I would say it is safe to say that he is heavily involved.....

Given the Bucket reference in the video, I would say we better get ready to sneak around some public place........

Damn, Im excited.

oh yeah, I am gonna look on google maps but I thought I should let you know of another idea about the address thing. Check for payphones at the location, I may be looking too far in to it but with the Bucket reference and all, if there are payphones on site I would have that in mind when the next clues come out.....

That icky intro page is so "not 42E"-ish, though...

Now people have gotten rejection letters... are accepted people getting any sort of response yet? 'cause I responded earlier and got nothing yet.

a couple of things...

1) Elan no longer works at 42 Entertainment. He works at Fourth Wall Studios.

2) The likelihood of Elan quoting himself in a project that he's working on is about none (besides, Elan tends to leave the writing up to Sean who is super awesome writer dude and probably doesn't need to quote Elan, not that Elan isn't quotable or that Sean wouldn't quote him but probably not in a game).

3) The domain was ordered through dreamhost and is on a shared server there. That does not fit either 42 or Fourth Wall's behavior - recent or otherwise.

4) there is no spoon! no matrix either! there are only overused metaphors from the movies. (heck, when even the President of a country is inadvertently using them it is time for agencies to put them down. i know. sad.)

Ok, I have watched the movie. Now I have to sleep Shocked .

I had better be granted my psych and physical tests before the game starts...
