I've got my eye on the 6:55 Axon in West Virginia. I'm about 3 hours away from that point, but I'm considering driving out there on Saturday (that is of course, if noone hits it tomorrow).

Is there anyone else out there that maybe lives closer to that point that has plans to hit it?

keichan - note there is another axon outside Leesburg (I'm assuming you are coming out from DC area?), which is on the way to West Virginia (xstryker identified it in one of his posts). For some reason it was cataloged as "200-some km sw of new york" I was thinking of trying that this weekend. (Other than being at the end of a road in the middle of nowhere, the most dangerous part about going there is it would require me to drive by the Leesburg Premium Outlet mall.)

I also emailed ladybee describing the payphone situatuion there. Am hoping that they get it and fix up accordingly. all our group knew the correct response and things, but the phones never rang. Sigh.

I went the day before yesterday and ran into three nice guys where were not from here. We covered two phones in a foodcort of a hotel. The phone I thought was more likely to be it based on the star on the map would ring on incomming calls, but the other would not.

No call came on the phone that would ring. Maybe I'll go again today (Friday)

I also agree that it is probably best to finish at least one Axon group... I think we'll get something in that slot marked "fun stuff" that each group has... We're so close to doing that on some... It's not going to hurt to try at least...

That leaves only the 14:35 location in Charlotte, which is a park with no phones, but does have a piece of playground equipment in the shape of a bee. Wink

Perhaps someone should be there with a cell 'phone, just in case Melissa's trying to make wireless contact?

That is what I was thinking too,
Hoping for:
43.569299 -116.214454 11:53 11 km SE of Boise eyes
40.762670 -73.956729 12:20 New York walkaway_girl
35.305783 -80.734667 15:19 Charlotte escape
to be done today..

On the 24th I went to the 41.933417 -87.645220 14:08 Chicago four goats and meet grout and kyrstn there and the phone didn't not ring, well I went back on the 26th with some friends, 007 and Whigsplittah, to look for more phones but didn't find any. This location is at a Borders, someone told me that there was a 3rd floor there accessable only from an elevator. Don't have any free time to check it out for a couple of days, but I will try again soon.

14:35 Axon

Um, not sure how this would work. If Mellisa has my cell phone (I am the only one that has searched this park) then she can call me anytime, or anywhere at the right time. Are you thinking of some kind of massive "any cell phone in the woods near the basketball court" type transmission?

I think I have to post more info to convince the PMs that there are no phones here. This is not a cas like the SF spot that errored out. Large numbers of people won't help cover phones that aren't there. I don't want to go back to that park if I don't have to. You know it is a bad neighborhood when the yards that border the park have razorwire on thier fences!

I'll be trying again for this, but I'm starting to lose hope. The only things around the site are:

Location ---------- website phone# -- actual phone#
Kopper Kitchen -- 208-342-9625 ----- 208-332-9975
24th: "is bob there?" and *silence ... click* calls
25th: no call

Best Western Conf. Cent. --------------208-287-0755
24th: no call, but don't know if phone accepts calls.

Chevron -----208-367-9501 ---------- 208-331-9407
--------------- 208-367-9502 ----------- 208-367-9556
26th: no call, but don't know if phone accepts calls, cashier says they do not.

Denny's --------------------------------- 208-342-9045
------------------------------------------- 208-342-9032
waitress hadn't heard phone ring in last few days

Best Western Hotel ---- no phone
Comfort Inn ------------ no phone
Sleep Inn --------------- no phone
US Bank ---------------- no phone
F&C Corp --------------- no phone
General Business complex - no phone

That is all phones (and I listed all the buildings) in the entire block of the Kopper Kitchen, the 5 buildings across the street and the gas station in the far left middle of this screen (on the other side of the intersection): http://mapper.acme.com/?lat=43.569299&long=-116.214454&scale=10 To find any more phones, I'd have to hit the farm equipment building to the far right (as everything else around is either open fields or airport) or go across the freeway. If there is another phone in the area, I could not find it, nor does anyone there know about it (I asked a good 15 or so people who work on this block in this process).

Problem is that I'm covering this site all by my lonesome self. I may be able to convince one other guy to come with me today, but probably not. I'm going to hope that "Melissa" has "seen" my posts here and will now call the correct # at the Kopper Kitchen (where I'll be stationed today). I don't know if I'll be able to do anything more over the weekend. This site is only 10min away from where I work (with a flexible lunch break, thank goodness), but 30min away from home.

Ah well, I'll just hope for the best, huh?

I'll try and get this one today. Hopefully I'll be able to time it right during my lunch break. I've managed to get all the phones I've tried for so far, so hopefully my luck will continue.

Cold, cold Axons ni Barnstable,MA

Hey, all. Been watching this site for a while, and I hope to help out.

I'm in the Boston area and I see that there are a couple of locations out in the Cape Cod area.

41.652214,-70.289091 6:19PDT (eyes)
41.667164,-70.291601 6:51PDT (jersey)

I realize that neither of those sestets are terribly close to done, but I imagine every little bit helps. I'm guessing that I'm the only Bostonian here, since in all my searching I haven't seen anyone else posting about going.

I've got a couple of other people from the ilovebees blog going, too- Alderaad and MattQ. I'll let you guys know tomorrow how that all goes.

Has anyone thought about the relationship between 777 and the axons being in groups of 7?

Perhaps it's saying that we need three sets of 7 hot instead of 777 total.

I just got back from the 7:51PDT Axon this morning, and this time it worked.

So, I can confirm that the phones ARE still ringing today in case anyone wants to know.

Also if this were the case, perhaps only 3 (or some) of the sets of axons are actually completable.

Axon errors could be our sign that a group isn't able to be completed.

Maybe we get bonus points for a complete set.

Nope, there were a bunch of us signed up to hit those locations on Tuesday, only it looks like none of us made it (for my own part, I couldn't get out of work when I finally realized those times were in the *morning*, not at night). I'm about ten minutes away from both spots, so I'll likely be there as well Saturday.
