[INFO] Pious flea movements Posted this in another thread but it died. I think it merits its own thread because this is pertinent information.
Has anyone been keeping track of the Flea's latest activities?
Yesterday (August 26) he placed a repeating string of the "Seek the truth, behold the truth, blahblahblah" on the Honey Roasted Carrots page of the Fun Stuff section. Today (August 27) the text is gone.
I know this was not an archive or a previous build of the page that I saw because the Honey Roasted Carrots page has never been affected in the past and the animated BEEWITHH.gif is not hyperlinked.
UPDATE!!
Flea is now writing his message in the "Fable of the Bee" page. As of 10:30 this morning his little mantra is visible if you highlight below the main text.
Anyone notice him tagging other parts of ILB in the past few days?

Well, we got a bit more syntax with the Princess on the yellowbrickroad page. And it was noted he spewed his mantra 100 times exactly on the Honey page. I hope he likes Lemon Chicken myself.

Dammit, 10:45 and the text has dissappeared. Maybe he got spooked?

He's definitely active right now. On the contactme.html, at 11:20am he put his usual:
Seek the truth
Behold the truth
Reveal the truth
That is the law and the whole of the law
four minutes later, it was gone.

I almost didn't post this part, cause I thought it would be trout, but muses.gif is changing too. I couldn't find a message embedded at all, but i have a copy if someone thinks they can find a steg in it.

Just tracked him through several recipe pages. Now he's on Comatas and posting his mantra like mad.
11:37 eastern.
Edit: And a minute later he's gone.

hey, I sat on one page and hit refresh constantly. it appeared and disappeared randomly. it did this on all of the pages from that section that I tried. looks like he's rapidly moving through each page in the "fun stuff" section. maybe he's growing inpatient with how long it's taking us to activate all these axons?

The coding nitty-gritty behind variations in the site... This may not start out sounding relevant, but bear with me.
Based on the nature of the server error messages (not in game) that appeared during the 8/24 flood of visitors to ILB, we can conclude that the ILB site is actually built with ASP.NET --not unexpected since Microsoft has an interest here. Thus, despite the fact that the pages have .html extensions and might seem to be static, the desired effects of the hacking and corruption are achieved by using the dynamic web-serving features of ASP.NET (perhaps through a custom ISAPI filter).
The designers/coders can cause (and have caused) random, or seemingly random variations of content to be sent with every page load, if they so desire. This includes text sizes and colors, image and HTML element sizing on pages, causing different data to be sent out on multiple requests for the same file...any characteristic of a web page is under their control, obviously (and frankly, I'd like to see how they did a lot of it once the game's done--it would be fascinating to us programmers ).
With all that said, because the PMs have elected to make so much of the content on the site random (or at least inconsistent), I don't see how they could expect players to distinguish whether there's any intentionality to the occasional appearance of certain content in certain places on the site.
On the other hand, the fact that some of the pages have encountered clear and semi-permanent changes over time is obviously important, as is evidenced by the fact that there are "archive" pages being created by the game itself whenever changes happen, presumably to give players access to old information, and allow them to compare and determine the exact extent of the changes.
Hey, I could be wrong...it wouldn't be much of a puzzle if the solutions were found in obvious places.

Ok, yeah, it seems to be fairly random through the link pages. Sometimes he pops up with one post of his mantra, rarely he pops in with a large block of it repeated and overlapped.
So now the question is "Why is the Flea suddenly so interested in hopping around the link pages?" These pages have remained largely untouched all game, but now the Flea is jumping around on them. Does that seem odd to anyone else?

Cool--that's interesting. I guess this was to help us find the 404 page.

[SPEC] Well.... ...if the Sleeping Princess is hiding in the kitchen (see the following thread ), then the Pious Flea, which wants to analyze her, would want to search the kitchen to find her hiding place, wouldn't she?[/url]

I like vidstudent's idea of a connection to the "kitchen" as reference by SP.
If you are looking at the PF jump around the recipe pages, be sure to do a hard refresh (shift + F5 on IE). I noticed that if I got to a page with the PF text on it and hit shift F5, the text disappeared every time. So, it probably changes when you request the page, not based on any certain time limit.

Agreed, I think vidstudent's idea is on the money.
