To complete the registration you respond to the email. People can input any username (except those of registered members) when posting as guests. We have a section of uF for administrative questions like this.

The benefits of registration include easier to post, the private message box, ability to edit your own posts, you get to show a small avatar (must be <100x100 pixels), and a small signature (limited to 5 lines, no images).
